Here is BMW's official introduction video of the BMW M3 DTM Concept Car (official press release and info) which will make its appearance in race form for the first time during the 2012 DTM season next year.

The video shows scenes from last week's unveiling at The Welt. It also traces BMW's DTM roots - 11 successful years (which ended in 1992) during which BMW was champion 3 times, had 49 victories, and went to the podium over 150 times. Three models were in use, 635csi, 323i, and the M3.

As for performance, the 4.0L 480bhp V8 motor rockets the M3 DTM from 0-100km/h in 3 seconds. Top speed is 300km/h.

For more additional detailed views of the M3 DTM car The Welt, see http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=559722

Are the tracks shorter?

When the series returned, it used a similar format to 1996: two races of 100 kilometres, with a short break between them. In 2001 and 2002 there was a short race of 35 kilometres as well as a long race of 100 kilometres, which included one pit stop and gave points for the top 10 as in earlier seasons. Since 2003 there has been only one race, which has a distance of about 170 kilometres, and two mandatory pit stops

Thanks! Sounds exciting, I've never seen a race but can't wait to watch BMW take the lead.

They can't make the car faster than others ( just my thought)
