ZSP is the only compulsory thing for me. I don't like leatherette so leather but I can do without a compass

I really want alcantara cloth like my ZHP has...I don't like either leather or leatherette here in hell...but I certainly don't want to pay $1450 for something that will be just as hot as leatherette.

I agree it sucks that you have to get it with BMW Assist. I wish I could just get a retrofit bluetooth kit without the assist crap. On the fees though, I think they added the four years subscription for '07 without upping the price, so at least you are getting your two years paid for (while 06 owners only got one).

Whatever you like to have, bro. These below are mine:
1. Sport pkg: you will kick your ass later for NOT getting it.
2. Premium pkg: I like leather seats and Bluetooth (included with BMW assist): your G35 and IS350 friends will laugh on your face if you have a $40k+ car without these.
3. I-drive with Nav.: I like it. It's not only Navi., but extra features in the I-drive that worth > $2000. In the next few years, you'll see the navi. as a standard in Civic or Corolla, and you'll regret for not having it.
4. Sunshade: I don't like to tint my car and have problem of driving tint cars at night, so this's the great thing for me.
5. Comfort Access: Cool to have. You'll love it.
6. Steptronic with Paddle Shifter: I'm still in negotiation for not getting it since I want a coupe to go with sport pkg and MT. However, the decision is not only mine. So I may have to compromise and spend another $1300 on this.
7. PDC: I may drop it, but again, I'm not the only one who will drive the car.

OK, but I can tell you I had beige leatherette that everybody thought was leather...and the black leatherette looks even more like leather...I really don't care though as I don't want either...but I would have done leather on my 335 if coral red had been available...for the look!

Anyhow, the convenience of have it "just work" when you get in the car, vs. f-ing around with a headset is worth the extra cash, IMHO.

I wouldn't be calling BMW owners tools on a BMW enthusiast website???

Being a sales guy another thing is there are a lot of times I have other people in my car and I'd prefer a more private call rather than having it broadcast to all.

True...my car is darkly tinted though and I do make a point to take the thing off when I get out of my car...I'm not into the whole wear it around bit and that includes the nerds wearing their cell phone on the belt...both my phone and my headset go in my pocket when in public.

Go for it, you won't regret it. I had a 97M3 Auto back when the automatics weren't that great and still beat the 95% of the M3's I came up against. Now they are a lot better...especially in traffic.:rocks:

Why not? Am I going to be burned at the stake for heresy? Before that happens, at least give me a chance to slap an M3 badge on my car first! Oh noes!!1

Oh, and since you clearly missed the premise of the joke: it's usually unfair to generalize, but BMW owners/drivers are routinely stereotyped as being arrogant, assholes, yuppies, snobs, and the like. I find that stereotypes constitute unfair generalizations, but they DO exist for a reason - as it so happens, many (if not most) BMW owners actually ARE yuppie snobs and/or badge buyers! By choosing one of these cars, you put yourself at risk of being categorized as such.

I went over my options yesterday. I went with:

Sport (the only given)
CA
Nav
Auto w/paddles (wife!)
Logic7

Why no prem? First, I already have a BMW with leatherette and I like it. I clean cars for a living and leatherette is just plain easier than leather. I understand why people get it, though. Lumbar support; don't want, compass, have nav, bluetooth, don't want. The only thing that made me pause was the auto mirrors, but I can live without them for $4,200.

Cheers.

What matters is I'd know, I'd feel inauthentic. Call me an existentialist if you want

imo. if your just driving for sport. ZSP will be enough. that is absolutely necesary.

rest are just bells and whistles. that is all personal to the user.
just ask yourself how you drive your car now.

if you get in and out of your car all the time. constantly stop and go. stop and go. maybe comfort access is worth it. if its very cold weather, get heated seats for a nice massage if you are bad at directions, or you take road trips, navi will come in handy. if you don't drive to new places a lot, not worth it, can always get a cheap mini navi later

just be honest with yourself and only get stuff you need, not stuff you'll use once a year.

but if you have the money, and thats not an issue to you, better safe then sorry

best thing about the e90, lots and lots of toys and goodies standard. trust me, you won't feel bad if you miss an option or too
