ABS 4x4 malfunction

I was driving home from the store and all the sudden I got the breaking chassis stabilization malfunction (2011 x drive e90). The ABS, break light came on. I turned the car off and started again and it went away... Any insight on what may have caused it? I am lowered on kwv1s and the car had 21k miles on it.

I have to bump this as its happening again... I really dont want to take out my JB4 and head to the dealer.... I have driven while the lights are lit up and I dont see any issues. The warnings go away once I turn the car off for an hour or so and when I drive for about 15 minutes the lights come up... Any ideas?

You need to get it scanned. It could be a wheel sensor, steering angle sensor, ABS unit...

One thing is for sure, you may not notice any difference driving, but when those lights are on you have NO abs or dsc. Not good if you find yourself in an emergency situation.

Same just happened to me. Did you have dealer fix or did it go away?

I had my ABS and brakes lights going on and off on me before, and I had to replace the "DSC controller" is what I beleive is was called.. there is even a BMW OEM "repair kit" for this issue. Something to do when the sensor or something?

I had it replaced under CPO but it was like a $1200 part.

Not sure if that is the same problem as you, but I had the lights coming on and off over a few day period, car still drove perfectly fine and stopped fine.

Took to the dealer and found out a wire came loose from one of the sensors. I think it might have been a broken clip or something like that. Not in US (only 2 year warrantee) so cost me less than a dollar for the part and about $50 to fix. At least this is what I could understand from my broken German and a service rep that spoke in broken English.
