Plug the vacuum line with a golf tee...why do you think they call it the "golf tee" mod?

IMHO the golf tee mod was banned by the USGA, but if nobody complains, go for it, it gets you at least an additional 30 yards off the Tee.

There is a flapper valve in the driver side exhaust that is controlled by a vacuum controlled switch. The valve is normally closed under most conditions. It opens under full throttle. With the valve closed, the exhaust system is quieter.
The Golf Tee Mod blocks the vacuum line (nominally with a golf tee that fits the hose very well). When the line is blocked, the flapper valve remains open and the exhaust system is a little louder. A lot of board followers seem to like the enhanced sound.

You can also disconnect the line from under the car, stick a properly fitting ball bearing (or a BB gun pellet) in the opening, and plug the line back in. Took it to the dealer for service with it in, never had an issue. Does the same exact thing.

I was going to do that but read in one of these threads that someone got the bb stuck and couldn't get it out.

It's not that hard, go under the left rear of your car by the left exhaust tip and you will find a black tube about 3/8"... then continue with your preferred method of the mod. (Unless you want to unplug which you will have to go behind the left tail light)

What's the difference between doing that and unplugging the connector in the trunk? |
