Auuming you mean the wiring once you remove the two screws connecting the visor to the headliner.... you'll notice a little "nib" on the plastic latch. I used a small screwdriver to unhook it by slipping it in between the two plastic sections and wiggled them apart. That small "nib" holds the two sections together. Hope that helps...

I used Goo-Gone with little help. Steaming didn't work for me either. I used Cutex brand NON-acetone nail polish remover my mom had. So I borrowed it and a stack of Q-tips. Soaked the Q-tips in the corner of the sticker and as it peeled off I lifted the corner and dragged a bunch of freshly soaked Q-tips in the nail polish remover across the edge that was still stuck and peeled right off in one piece. Minimal glue residue on the visor and I did NOT remove the visor. You can only barely see the shiny residue in the bright sun. Now I will try the Goof off to wipe it totally clean with less of the smell people have described using that product. Was quite painless and REALLY makes a difference (IMHO).

i just did this today. went amazingly well. there is no need to remove the visor out of the car. here is what i did

Things Needed:
1. Goo-Off Spray @ Home Depot
2. Cotton Pads x2 for each visor total of 4 (Not Balls)
3. Fabreeze Spray

Steps:
1. Spray Goo-Off on pad until almost drenched and apply on entire sticker.
2. on same pad spray a bit more and hold it on a corner for like 5 seconds.
3. with a fingernail slowly pull from the corner and keep applying the pad when needed. ( i actually managed to get one sticker off in one piece )
4. Once sticker is removed, spray a bit more on the same pad and give the visor a quick wipe down on the gluey area.
5. take a new pad and spray fabreeze on it.
6. take the pad and apply on sticker area and done.

no smell and no need to remove visor. literally takes 5 minutes.

I'm usually one of those folks that can manage to goof up the easiest of DIYs. However, this one worked exactly as advertised, maybe better.

I have black vinyl visors. I used one cotton ball of Goof-Off per visor. I swabbed the entire sticker with a "reasonable" amount of Goof-Off. I started peeling back at one corner, and pulled very slowly and evenly. 2-3 times per sticker, I would reapply Goof-Off, since I believe its formula evaporates very quickly. This keeps the adhesive moist and gummy. Each sticker came off in one piece.

I then reswabbed the remaining adhesive on the visor and wiped it down with a cotton rag. There was some, but not much adhesive left over on the visor. The vast majority came off with the sticker. I think that my success was based on a good guess at the right amount of Goof-Off to get the adhesive loose with minimal adhesive on the visor or disintegrating the sticker, in combination with having a vinyl visor to begin with.

Despite my success, I would be hesitant to do this on a light-colored, cloth visor, although others have been just as successful with their own.

Here's my experience for what it's worth... Light grey vinyl visor.

Tried the Goof-Off method and the sticker did not peel but rather disintegrated and had to be scraped off in tiny tiny pieces. Also the black portions of the sticker (Outline and lettering) where much more persistent and when they did come off they left a lot of black smudges. I used a very liberal amount of goof off and the smudges would not budge... plus there was still a very well defined black outline of where the sticker was. I got about half way through disintegrating the sticker and I was crapping my pants because it looked awful. (this is about 20 minutes in)

At this point I figured the visor is toast anyway so desperate times call for desperate measures... enter Poly Clens http://www.lepageproducts.com/produc...id=59&plid=316

I soaked a small terry cloth rag in this stuff and the everything wiped clean in about 2 minutes. It looks pristine without a hint of residue. After that I just wiped it clean and then used some Meguires vinyl cleaner on it.

Perhaps my experience with Goof off is because my car is a little older and the the adhesive is harder to remove after time (2006 325i) or perhaps it's because it is cold here now (damn Canadian winter).

I have the cloth visors on my e92 and instead of using Goof Off, I used Goo Gone. It's a little less concentrated which means you'll be putting in a little more elbow grease. I didn't run into any problems with the ink running either.

for those who've done this on their cloth visors, did you run into problems with the cloth soaking up the goo gone? im worried mine will leave a stain since it's beige cloth...

I used Goof off 2. its a water base goof off instead of an oil based one. It worked well. For the first month or so you could see a little residue where the sticker was, now 5 months later There is a VERY faint outline of where the sticker was. And FYI I have the black dakota interior, so its a very light grey cloth upper material and around the visors.

Thank you, tima, if you're still around. Worked perfectly. I had 1/3 of the driver side sticker left from trying to pick it off over the past year and had finally given up. Did the passenger side in about three minutes. Man, it looks great without those freakin' things!!

Car is E92 w. Premium (gray "cloth" visors).

15 - 20 minute total job from visors off to visors on. Maybe a bit more with 10 minute drying time in the California sun.

Supplies:
Denatured alcohol
#25 Torx - You could do the job w. visors on the car, but this is easier.
2 Q-tips

Remove two screws. Push the "pin" in the plastic electrical connector with something small & separate the connector.

Do NOT soak the label with alcohol.

Get the Q-tip as wet as you can to soak the area where you are working, and push the corner of the label with the Q-tip. After a minute or so, you will begin to see it separating from the cloth. Continue until you can begin to catch the corner with fingernails. Do NOT pull hard; the alcohol and Q-tip are doing most of the work. Continue wetting Q-tip and disolving the glue. You want to soak the cloth under the sticker. The sticker will come off in one piece.

You will end up with a very faint indentation. No one but you will ever see it.

Please be sure to read all the warnings in the owners manual, and get your kids to sign a release before you put them in a rear facing kiddie seat in the front.

I used "OOPS" and it worked perfect. Did not have to remove my gray visors. Simply dabbed and rubbed and the things peeled/melted/pulled away. Odor gone in 1 hour. No apparent residual or visor damage.

Then, I removed the little warning sticker on the upper L corner of the windshield. Now that was a pain.

Tools Needed:
Goo Off (Home Depot, Lowes, ETC)
x2 Q-Tip
Febreeze

Steps:
spray q-tip with goo off. put tip on corner of label, hold it and let it soak in for 30 seconds. use a finger nail and lift the label. continue applying the q-tip while slowly peeling. do it slow and you will get it in one piece like i did. if not no biggie, just apply the tip let it soak and peel off. respray the qtip when needed. after spray febreeze and voila done with no gas smell

Had brown cloth visors (2008 E90)

Used Acetone, lightly dabbed on label and then peeled off immediately in small sections. 2 minutes a side, no residue left.

I've got the tan cloth visors.

Just used some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel, and it softened the stickers. Slowly removed the stickers, and was done. 5 minute job.

So these actually ARE stickers on the cloth visors? On my car it looks and feels like the warning is actually printed on the visor... ??????

In the pictures above, it looks like a little glue residue still on the visor.

Fwiw, I had used the same technique w/ Goof Off with the warning labels on my E39 which did have vinyl covered visors. The labels came off easier and left no marks.

I purchased these adhesive cloth patches (matching the visor fabric) to cover the labels. After putting them on, I decided to remove and reposition them. Upon removing them, almost the whole label peeled right off with it! The back adhesive of these cloth patches is like a metallic tape. So I'm guessing any type of metallic tape or similar would work just as well. I simply needed a bit of alcohol to remove some remaining scraps and adhesive. The one visor is completely undetectable, the other has a bit of an indent where the label was, but I'm hoping that will spring back over time. Anyway, just thought this was an interesting, almost totally non-chemical, and effortless way to remove these annoying stickers.

Ooops. Slight correction. Today, in the bright daytime sun, I noticed there are some indents on both visors. At least I think they're indents. Doesn't seem to be like residue. Is it worth trying Goo-gone or Goof off anyway? Or has anyone found a place to buy replacement visors WITHOUT the "lawyer-induced" obscenities?
