They don't work, and never will. Huge myth...trust me i used to work at myspace.

y cant it ever work? that never made sense to me. people can create viruses and all this other crazy stuff but that seems simple to invent and no one has or maybe myspace just wont let them use it. idk

but i think MYSPACE would have to enable that function.
Didn't xanga have tracker???
or some other did.
pretty sure it can be done.

it's a security measure on the backend that the producers have a block on it. It's for privacy reasons why they don't have trackers. That was Friendster's downfall. That and they never introduced any new features, content or channels on their site.

but how is a security issue for users? If anything, wouldnt it work against stalkers and other things of the like?

the one i used before that worked (this was back in 05) was from some place called profilescoop.net or profilesnoop. net i forgot

it would show the IP and times they visited and stuff.

xanga does have a tracker. but the script is made by the developers at xanga... it detects usernames who come across your site if you set it to the protected log-in thing
