One thing for sure, the coupe is begging to be debadged. Otherwise it looks good.

Another anomaly in comparing the US specs to Canadian, we can get Style 230/19" wheels and tires as a factory option (just the ticket for our northern, pot-holed roads), but this option is not offered to US customers.

I do wonder how BMW decides which country gets what (wheels, colors, interiors) and what criteria is used to make such a call.

It's really lame that we can special order our cars and yet they limit certains options based on location.

Sales volume, which option packages sell the most based on past sales, customer surveys, etc. all taken into account.

Ultramarine is the color they were going to release with the E90, and instead decided to save for the E92. Internally called Ultramarine, but renamed Montego. My bad.

Can't be the same colour. The colour code for Ultramarine Blue is/was A42, for Montego Blue A51.
Today I took a look on a sample of Ultramarine Blue and I was not impressed.
From the available pics on the forum, Montego Blue looks better, IMO.

Yeah, that explains part of it, but I still don't see why certain wheel designs are not offered in the States. I HATE having NO CHOICE in which SP wheel you receive on your car. Canada gets Lemon interior and US can not! Does not make much sense to me. Oh well ....

I saw today on BMW.ca that Canada will get Montego blue, Crimson Red and Deep Green at a "later date". Good news for those who are willing to wait, I would personally seriously consider Montego blue if I wasn't so desperate to get this car ASAP!

Update Sept 29 '06: Got the car...It rocks!!

My apologies for the mistake in my earlier post about the available colours for Canada. According to the Canadian E92 brochure, yes, Montego Blue and Crimson Red will be "late availability". Deep Green is marked as being a current colour.
Two other blips in this brochure : the colour swatches for Arctic and Space Grey are identical - the Arctic one has been reproduced twice ! The other possible goof is under "Interior Features", where it reads "Window lifts, electric front and rear". Looking at the earlier posted photos of the E92 interior, showing the driver's door, there are clearly only two window switches, instead of four as in the E46 coupe. These photos indicate that there are only two opening windows, not four.
Other than these details, all of the photos in the Canadian brochure are the same ones that have already been posted as "official photos".

Are they using a batch of montego blue for publicity and motoring journalists to test?
