How do you know that there will really be a 335is? Maybe somebody just read my speculation thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=335969
But if it is true so then I was right. There might even be 335is E90 and E91. What is interesting in all this: Car------------------------------->0-100 km/h Z4 sDrive35i (6MT)---------------->5.2 sec Z4 sDrvie35i (7DCT)--------------->5.0 sec Z4 sDrive35is (7DCT)-------------->4.8 sec 335i Coupe (6MT)----------------->5.5 sec 335i Coupe (7DCT)---------------->5.4 sec so 335si Coupé (7DCT)--------------->5.2 sec to 5.0 sec and M3 Coupé (6MT)------------------>4.8 sec M3 Coupe (7DCT)----------------->4.6 sec To me it seems just to close. The M3 LCI will surely get an upgrade to 440 hp. M3 Coupé LCI (6MT)-------------->4.7 sec M3 Coupé LCI (7DCT)------------->4.5 sec |

so if these are the changes for 3 series in 2011. does that mean these changes or slightly different changes will occur to the 2011 or 2012 M3?

The 2011/2012 M3's will get the LED tails, but that's about it. No new headlights (as they would have to change the front bumper, etc...) No increased Hp, etc... If history repeats itself take a look at the e46 M3's. When the LCI e46's came out the M3 was completely unaltered, other than the LED tails.

No, I did not read your speculation thread (I do not speculate)- this is from hard sources and the iS will be a US only product.

the only thing that has been confirmed for MY 2011 / 2012 M3 on the e92 are the LED tails... that's the only confirmation we have... yet...

also, i'm gonna have to agree with mapezzul, the car has overboost... you guys hopefully will be happy with that at least for the short duration, stop worrying about piggyback until the damn car comes out... you do understand that overboost causes a very dramatic increase in TORQUE for all those hell bent on being faster from a dig or a roll?? expect to wear out your tires sooner people... torque's what makes you chirp your tires... |

MANUAL tranny cannot handle the "overboost"... there will be NO 6MT iS... DCT AND AUTO are the ONLY options with the iS model... look at the current performance package through BMW, i don't know the exact numbers off the top of my head, but the 6MT 335 gets slightly less horse and torque with the same upgrade... |
