Bangs/explosions heard across the uk on Saturday
I saw this on the news last night and it intrigued me I thought it would be interesting to get some peoples views on this. The MOD are saying it was nothing to do with them and are unsure what caused it. i find that the most concerning thing if the mod put out a statement saying that makes me think they defiantly do know but don't fancy sharing that information with the public.
so on Friday an explosion near a army barracks closes the a1 but no explosives or debris found that could have caused this? Saturday night bangs/explosions heard across the uk from Glasgow to London again no visual sign of wear the sound was coming from. With sound clips shown from different locations all sounding very similar/the same. Twitter aperntly taking down related hashtags This obviously got conspiracy theorists very excited with theories of meteor showers , amunition Fire , fireworks, project aurora, or other stealth planes using a pulse engine and even aliens! I'm no conspiracy theorist but I do find things like this interesting and so far I've not seen an explanation that explains it. After hearing the sound clips I dont think its a pulse engine / sonic booms as there is no pattern to the sound, live amunition or gunfire sounds most likely but a mass military training excercise would have been leaked by now. So I'm going with thanksgiving fireworks. Thought it would be good to get some other opinions lol the full story is on all the news websites if anyone wants to read it ! |

Its 4.30am now in Sheffield. Here on a visit.
Just got woken up by a very loud noise which lasted for around 3-4s. Best way to describe it was it sounded like thunder, but louder. But its clear outside and has been all night. Very strange. Not saying its related to these bangs, i just don't know what it was. My wife thought it was a car accident outside but it wasn't. |

Hahaha
FALSE ALARM people. I woke up and apparantly a HUGE pile of snow fell from the roof, which is around 3 storeys on this house. Fucking scary though. The entrance to the house was all blocked! I did go through my fair share of conspiracy theories last night in bed though. |

Meteors can explode when they hit our atmopshere so this is a possible explanation. See here for an example from an asteroid which caused such a big explosion mid air that it levelled an entire forrest! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event
I believe the 2012 asteroid (when we were all looking the other way watching the other one fly past earth) exploded over Russia and the sound wave from the explosion cause structural damage to a few buildings and shattered windows etc. |

A meteor. There'd be signs like a massive f**kin light! Possibly shattered windows etc. People would have caught it on film. Dash cam, cctv, mobile phones etc.
Probably just sonic booms from high speed flight tests or thunder. |
