I want to get mine tinted too. Do you guys like Tint King at Billerica? I want to get Huper Optik 35% and they are the closest one. Otherwise, there's one in Westport, MA.

o nice to see so many interested people, I was thinking tint king. There's also solar solutions out in bedford i believe, but they use dyed tint instead of metallic, I dont know enough about that so someone please chime in. I also heard that going with huper optik or formula1 on the east coast is a waste of money since it costs almost twice the price and we dont see enough sun/heat to appreciate it.

I had Huper Optik on my E55 and it worked fairly well blocking the sun out to keep the car cool when I park outside. Otherwise, it doesn't do much.

I'm thinking of tinting my car at tint king as well.. I got quoted $250 for Suntek (carbon based tint) for 5 windows. I don't think I neeeed the ceramic. If we all go, maybe we can get a group discount as someone mentioned??

It's not just normal black tint, but it has some reflective film on top of it. |

Here's a pic: The tint is not extremely dark and like Kevin (lyjw88) said, it's reflective, unlike the dye or carbon based products.

Do they do the tint themselves? Or do they contract it out to one of those mobile tint van?

Regarding the possibility of a group discount, I contacted Brian at tint-king and he said:
"Discounts are hard. I am not against it but I need to know all the cars will be there. I am out of the area till the 21st (next thursday) give me a call then." I guess if we can get a list going and specify a date, we may be able to convince him to do a discount.. I might start a separate thread on this if there's enough interest..

I went to Sound in Motion a couple of days ago and was qouted 225. If their tint guy is as good as they described then it is definately my first choice, since I live right near 88 and so do my friends..
do you guys have any preferences? |

ya sry busy the guy who comes to SIM is pretty good... Shouldve went there, i did it back at home in NY at a friends place and it turned gr8 outside but the inside tint got scratched some how, something in the door.
But ya SIM is a gr8 shop, if you go there tell them Seth with the blk 335 says hello.

Most likely Suntek if SIM uses the same tint guy that I know. Honestly, I would rather shell out a little more for the Huper Optik. I guess I'm going to TK or Secure Sound Plus in Westport

the guys at SIM use one piece for the rear I know because one of my friends got his clk tinted there. All I care about is that it is machine cut, no scratches on the tint, and that the film doesnt have any type of greenish hue to it. I'm going for a really clean look and I've gone through many many tints in the past that I haven't been very fond of. This can potentially be a pretty fun meet if we can get everyone together!

yea sure make the list, i'll add myself and also my friend with his 530i. the only complaint i have with SIM is that i think they use a razor instead of a machine....you can still get pretty close with a blade but nothing beats the clean look of machine cut, just some food for thought
