Meh - these drawings always rely on impossible wheels and rear seats for dwarfs, not to mention teeny tiny mirrors. It's just more marketing BS. Give us something realistic, its not like they can't.

A3 Sedan...? A coupe would be sweet though.

There is talk that the 3dr will be more coupe like than before but I haven't seen any pics of it to confirm this.

Why didn't Audi make the A4 with proportions like this? The A4 has always been ok up till now. Even the B7 still looked ok, but the new one looks far too long. However, that said it has a great interior and the S4 is a beast.

Nothing new here with the A3 sedan. It's pretty much current Audi. I hope they don't keep using this new A6 front on everything because the A6 should look unique.

I'm liking the tension in the lines. The rear's a bit ungainly, but the front is nice, even if it's derivative of the A6. I'm ready to see a new styling template though.

There's a good base layout, but the color combo and choice of where they put the white vs black seems odd.

Yep I loved my B6..best looking a4 the B5 still looks good. The B7 looks dated very dated. Yes the new A3 will be as big as older A4 but it will still have that stupid Haldex differential. I'll still buy it to replace my GTI.

Glad to see all the comments.

And I agree with most of you guys, this car is simply another mix of the same language Audi has managed, however that is not bad at all, after all BMW used this kinda "same language" on several generations of the 3,5,7. I do like Audi styling but they tend to be like fashion show cars, shocking at first but boring at the end as the new generations are way different, not evolving.

And what I mention in the blog is that this is Audi's way to compete with the 1 Series. BMW= RWD = Coupe (For the 1 Series Coupe with a trunk)
Audi = AWD = Sedan (For the A3 with a trunk)
Might sound a bit odd but I kinda figure it that way.

It amazes me how people dismiss Haldex off the chuff yet when applied correctly it's extremely efficient, one look at how well the TT-RS performs will know this to be true and as this one will be based on the latest MBQ platform which is by all accounts going to be dynamically superior.

Don't count your chickens until they're hatched as this car will surprise you.

I just saw the photos of this on autoblog, and I have to say this is the best looking Audi I have seen in a long time. I really like the proportions, and while obviously this is a concept car, I can see it transitioning nicely to production with most of the cues in tact.

This car is why BMW absolutely needs a 1 Series sedan, especially in the US. Audi will be eating BMW's lunch in the < $30k price range with car. SCOTT has suggested BMW is looking into a 1 Series Gran Coupe, which needs to be approved for production stat, IMHO. But kudos to Audi for apparently beating BMW to the punch on a new entry level 4 door. I can't wait to see the production version of this, hopefully with a higher output 4 cyl TSI motor like in the new Golf R.

I don't think Audi has much to worry about as far as competing with BMW since a small sedan will have a much, much higher potential sales volume than a small coupe/convertible does.

If they really want to cover all bases, an A3 coupe and convertible would do it, though I don't necessarily see that as likely any time soon. However, something like the VW Eos, but with styling more along the lines of this new A3 sedan would probably be a winner too.

I'd buy that over the ugly 1 series any day.

Seeing how the new A8 looks, this car isn't much different which makes me believe the production version will look very similar to this.

Nice design...I would've seriously considered this car if it was available last year...

I was deciding between the A3, 1 or GTI (the A4 is too big for my age and a new 335i is very expensive here in Canada). The A3/GTI were nice but I was looking for a small coupe or sedan instead of a hatchback, this A3 would have been perfect, especially with AWD for Canadian winters...

+1 for Audi and this car!
