BT Infinity problem?

Hi guys, just a yes or no answer to my question would put my mind at rest.
I upgraded yesterday from BT broadband to Infinity mainly for the footie.
I was not impressed by the installer, seemed to be in a hurry to get away
and his work was a bit shoddy,he did not use those little plastic clips with the
masonry nail, seemed happy enough to use plastic ties to anything that was
available, this was on a 15 metre run of exterior cable. After a quick demo he
left my home and an untidy mess of interior cable. Whilst tidying the cable up
I came across a ADSL cable still attached to the hub, there seemed to be no
socket for the other end of this cable so I disconnected it. Now to my question,
the installer connected a white plastic Openreach box which happens to have
a flashing Lan1 green light and a flashing orange light, please say this is normal.
No info in the booklets so tried BT help website where I found a gentleman who
would give me the answer for the princely sum of £28. TIA.

Yes that's normal. I'm assuming you're working too, since you're on the Internet....

Yes. That is what he is saying and he is correct. Go to speedtest.net and test your speed if it is near what you are expecting and the internet works as it should then all is good. Apart from the mess.

I had a similar poor experience when BT did my infinity install.
