I haven't sold a car privately before but dont these emails sound suspecious ? dont know what sort of people fall for these sort of scams.

If I was to buy a car from a private seller I would ring them first and not just email them and agree to buy without even viewing the car.

Scam Scam Scam!!

Only sell your car face to face and for cash or take the buyer to the bank and allow them to do a transfer into your account.

Likely to be scammers I'm afraid, autotrader and ebay are full of them.

Why is it that when I read the bottom one (from Mr Andrew Simon, Dublin, Ireland) I was reading it imagining a Nigerian accent?
"I just need your sort code and bank account details."

These are scams, shouldn't buy a car without inspection, even from a dealer, never give out your personal details in this manner.

I guess they hope that one of their emails will land with a seller who is desperate to sell and will therefore comply with the requests within the emails.

Rules: it is normally a scam if
1. they spell words as the sound
2. offer immediate payment
3. use all CAPS or strange punctuation, yet pertain to be from the UK
4. seem to trust you completely, affording no protection to themselves.

Are these posted here so we can all laugh together or are you actually asking us if we think they are scam emails?

I read all these emails using the Nigerian accent character from Phone Jacker "we just need to clean all da monies in your bank accoun".

I had something remarkably similar when selling recently. Quick response to amuse myself and stop the bastards annoying me.
