People don't seem to be using them currently.

People don't seem to be using them currently.
Although they used to have a pretty good reputation before they were
taken over but German Maestro (I believe ) . My local stereo store says
they have gone down hill since then. If you look at posts that go back about
two to three years here you will see examples of people using them. The selection of speakers that fit is limited for these cars. There is a speaker list of those that do in the Audio upgrade start here sticky at the top of the page in the forum.

If you are new to this forum or BMW stereo you should read that upgrade start here sticky it will answer a lot of your questions.

I meant this one.

Morels , Rainbow , Jehnert and Earthquakes seem to be the poplular
speakers for the the stock positions and also Diamond audio.

I have a set of RUA-213 you can have for free if you pay the shipping cost
I was using the mids and crossovers
Mids sound good but don't really fit the coupe
Tweeters were never used

MB Quart was bought by Rockford. Rockford closed it down and sold the brand to the people who own Hifonics and Crunch.

The old managers and staff of the MBQ Factory bought the factory, and apparently didn't have enough money left over to pay a branding consultant to tell them German Maestro was a dumb name.

They have improved the MBQ tweeters and make most of the same mids. You can see in places on the injection molded frames where the MBQ logo has been rubbed off the tool.

I tested the GM speakers in my own car, and I just couldn't go for the on-axis performance of the Ti tweeters. I think they would do much better in an E46 sedan or an E36, but with the current tweeters angled at the listener...

But MBQ isn't at all what it used to be... just a sticker, now.

I use the tweeters from the original QSD component set in my car but that tweeter is probably close to 10 years old now which is from the era where MB Quart was still going strong. Like VP said, their new stuff is not great and even the old stuff needed special attention paid in the install or active crossover and EQ to get it to sound good. Out of the box, they are pretty harsh but when setup correctly, they can sound really good.
