Winter tire wue

Hello everybody,
I have a set of staggered style 197 BMW wheels and I want to buy some winter to fit them on Craigslist. The rims are 18x8 in the front and 18x8.5 in the rear. Can I put any 18 inch tire on these rime as long as they fit in the wheel well? Im thinking of putting on 225 /40 /18 all around or 235/50/18 all around. Probably a dumb question. Please help. Thanks!!

235/50R18 is definitely too tall.

Thanks for you reply Gary. So just to be clear, I could put the 225 / 40 / 18 all around even with the different size rims?

Yes that is fine. In fact, it is recommended for winter setups.

+1

225/40R18 tires can be used with 8" or 8.5" wide wheels with no problem.
