Got a Ticket for Rear Fogs
So tonight just now i came in from doing a quick drive in my car. Got pulled over by 2 police officers. Got a ticket for having the rear fogs. he said that he wasnt able to see the street in front of him anymore because the rear fogs were so bright that they were blinding. I told him what should i do since it is part of the car, i didnt think he would know that i added it. He said just dont use them.

you should really not use it when there's no fog or rain, to avoiding blinding traffic behind you when it's a clear night/day out.

I'm curious, how much was the ticket? Also, why did you install rear fogs - form or function?

i installed it for both honestly. I really dont try to bother anyone ijust use them as a safety feature. I think it is very smart. I mean it catches attentionr ight away and can realyl stop someone from rear ending you. |

hmm, that's a toughie, I guess use it in extremly DENSE fog then haha, since they are so bright, wouldn't it be better if it was a two-stage fog? like low and high beam

yeah, it is definitely good in rainy and foggy conditions, make sure some tools don't follow too closely or not even see you

What an ass, a warning would have sufficed.

The purpose of fog lights is to use them in the fog, which he did. 200 is just ridiculous.

well if you're breaking the law, and get a ticket I'm not really sure where the cop is being an ass it's not like you can argue that what you did wasn't illegal more of the "I'm not responsible for my own actions" that seems to be so popular today |

so it's legal, but really, why give them any reason to pull you over it's not like people can't see the tail lights.......... even in THICK fog |

24602. (a) A vehicle may be equipped with not more than two red fog taillamps mounted on the rear which may be lighted, in addition to the required taillamps, only when atmospheric conditions, such as fog, rain, snow, smoke, or dust, reduce the daytime or nighttime visibility of other vehicles to less than 500 feet.
Do you think the cop had a measuring tape with him?
