E90 - 4-Door Sedan - Interior Issues

I purchased a 2009 CPO BMW 335d. I was told that the interior is not covered by the CPO warranty. So my warranty on interior stuff ends in 1500 miles.

Are there any issues that other 335d owners experienced with their interior that I should check for so that I can take care of it under warranty?

Interior items not covered under CPO warranty:

Body and Interior
Paint; glass; headlamps; bulbs (except instrumentation); mirrors; lenses; body and chassis; body seals and gaskets; interior and exterior trim, moldings, and fasteners; upholstery, headliner, carpeting, floor and trunk mats; convertible top (all components except electronics); air or water leaks; wind or body noises; wheels; damage due to rust, corrosion, or contamination, except as covered by the BMW New Vehicle Rust and Corrosion Perforation Warranty.

Accessories
Radio/cassette player, telephone, navigation system, CD changer, or any components of those systems; non-original equipment parts, components or accessories.

Thanks

I have the CPO warranty, which covers things for a total of 6 years/ 100k miles. But it doesn't cover the interior/exterior items mentioned in the original post. There is no extended warranty that covers these items. So before my bumper to bumper warranty runs out in 1500 miles, I want to address all the issues other BMW owners experienced so that I can check it on my car and if I find anything, I will have it taken care of.

That's what I have been told as well as what I found on the web. So if your radio or navigation system fails after your original 4 year/ 50k miles and you have the CPO warranty, it will not cover these items. I don't know if the extended warranty you can buy also doesn't cover these issues.

I did receive something in the mail from BMW for purchasing an extended BMW maintenance plan for $2500. Maybe this plan would cover everything else that is not covered by the CPO extended warranty.

Don't spend the $2500.
THere isn't $2500 in maint unless you hit 100K miles.
unless the brakes are shot they don't look at them.
Belts are not listed for changing.
$2500 gets you oil changes and not much else.
Wish I had kept my money.

Thanks. So I am better off saving the money and then spending it after my CPO warranty is up at around 100k miles. Then I can use the $2500 to replace my hoses, brakes, rotors and anything else that is needed. Is there a online site that shows what needs to be done to your car at different mileage intervals?

The BMW dealerships are really pushing the maintenance program for $2500 pretty hard. They even sent me a coupon for $150 so I can purchase this plan. But your right, not worth $2500 for a few oil changes and inspections.

Clips on the vents. I've had my car for a little over a year and I've broken off 2 of them on accident... so I just broke the other two on purpose because they were loose and felt like it was going to happen sooner or later. Also had the rear seat center console cup holder have problems coming out after you pushed in on it. Also had the steering wheel enamel/vinyl peel a little. Had Nav issues where it would "flicker" after driving for 30-40 miles.. that one was tough because it wouldn't do it for them at the dealer, so I caught it on video with my iPhone and they used that to replace the entire unit. All was replaced for free under original warranty. Now I'm 1 month into the CPO and hoping that I caught everything.

An alternative would be to purchase a 3rd party extended warranty that is more comprehensive than the CPO warranty.

That's extended maintenance, not extended warranty.

So CPO doesn't cover convertible top components? Yikes. That could be expensive to fix. Is there an aftermarket warranty that would cover the top?

Main things I would look for are creaking seats (my passenger seat squeaks a bit nothing serious enough that I'd pay to have it checked out but if under warranty I'd def take it in). Also check for peeling trim all around -- door handles, rear A/C console, steering wheel trim etc. All I can think of right now that bothers me in my car.

Seat issue I'm talking about is like this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=780708
Definitely have that on my driver's seat, the passenger seat is a bit more of a creak but similar.

Unfortunately yeah, both broke over time. Passenger one broke from someone knocking it with their leg. Driver one just broke for no reason (the spring inside slipped). Bunch of friends have had the same story, thankfully the new bmws changed their cup holder design

I am possibly the only person on the face of this earth who prefers the e9x cupholders over the new ones.

I love my cup holders. I know a lot of people break their e9X holders off on accident but I think they were a great move from the e46 console holders. The F30 seems like they laid the cockpit out then realized they forgot them. I feel the same way about the nav. I know they wanted to bring it higher up, but it looks like an oversized Garmin stuck on top. They should have just made the heads up display standard with the nav option IMO.

Get the ext warranty instead of maint service.

Contact your dealer and they have third party to cover ext warranty.

-Check for peeling on any of the interior components
-Check the door seals to see if there has been any rubbing / breakage (mine had a hole worn in it)
-Listen for any rattles/etc. that are constant
