when they changed my water pump, I asked for the t-stat, and they wanted extra $300 for it. this is regina Diliwri BMW. I told them to fuck off. I even told them why so much $$, they told me it is separate thing and I told them again they are located at same place but the SA told me that's what tech told him so there is nothing he can do. I guess it all depends on dealership

Replaced water pump and thermostat two summers ago for my 2006 330xi at a local BMW certified mech for ~$1300 taxes in.

Kenmasters,
How many kms on your your 335? Just want to get an idea when to expect water pump/thermostat replacement. Although I do hear it varies between 100,000 to 150,000kms. |

If you want to be pre-emptive I say 100 to 150 is a good range. FYI - it's $711 for the water pump at the dealership. Thermo is cost of parts plus max 30mins of labour, but even that thats being generous. |

Finally mine died tonight. Had it tow to RMP and leave it there for the night.
Does it required new thermostat to replace waterpump? I had thermostat replaced last year |

I did mine at 109 km on my old 325 for $1000 taxes in...however, that included coolant reservoir and therm.

I just got my waterpump, theromostat, and spacers installed at an Indy shop all for $840. Cheapest I've seen so far. Everything looks good! heat and AC works. The install went smoothly.
I drive a 06 330XI manual with 132,000km |

Which Indy shop if you don't mind sharing. PM me if you prefer to keep it private. That is a great price even if it were just the pump and thermo.

[QUOTE=Embolus*335i;14662717]Which dealer was this? Was it in for whole day or longer (ie. drop off in morning, pick up end of day or next day?)
This was Birchwood BMW in winnipeg. They told me that BMW has a mandate to keep prices low on these items to compete with indy shops. It was in for the day. They called me at 2 in the afternoon and i took it in at 8. |

Great workmanship
BWM Autohause in Thornhill did a great job and turned my car around in about 5 hours. Of course, the added thermostat pulled the packaged price of the total repair up to a grand total of $1200CDN.
It's a lot to pay, but i'm confident in their workmanship and coverage if either part were to fail in the near term. Thanks Rad! |
