Fitting B4s to my E92 SE Pre-LCI - Anyone Used Bilstein Bump Stops as well?

Hi All,

So I am replacing my 1 yr old SACHS front shocks and Boge Front Bump Stops as the original mechanic who fitted these did a nasty job by not aligning the left side top mount properly and now the left shocks makes a thuddy rattle over bumps.

I have done a lot of research and have opted to replace them my self with Bilstein OEM B4s (NON-SPORT) shocks and also Bilstein NON-SPORT bump stops.

The NON-SPORT Bump stops are 11-270256 (11-276562 is for M-Sport version).

However, why are they So hard?? I can barely compress them with my hand. I remember the Boge ones had a soft top section but these Bilstein ones are really hard, almost like M-Sport bump stops!

Anyone used Bilstein bump stops? I reckon they are the best brand after BMW OEM as I understand Bilstein actually made the E9x LCI suspension.

Is a hard bump stop a good thing? I.e better dampening due to more progressive absorption compared to a softer bump stop which can hardly absorb anything and compress very quick?

Thanks

Bump? Anyone know why the Bilstein Bump Stops are harder compared to Boge/Sachs ones?

Since Bilstein is a shady fly-by- night company, and doesn't know what they're doing, I'd definitely look for some tuner bump stops from AliExpess…..

Sorry - yes, sarcasm.

If Bilstein put bump stops with the shocks, then they're the right ones.

Why try to make things more complicated?

Just want to makesure I've not got bump stops that were part of a faulty batch. The height and design is correct just very hard? Need a lot of body weighr to compress it
