Thank you, I corrected my post.

A leaky swirl flap made a mess underneath my intake manifold. I am taking the manifold off to replace the glow plug controller and clean the area. Are there important components behind the bracket that I should be concerned about?

Glow plug module is easy. I replaced mine within 15 minutes without removing the manifold. You’ll just need a longer extension and recommend a magnetic type of socket. The glow plugs are easy, but you’ll need to remove the manifold. No coolant or anything had to be drained on my end.

Bought a glow plug module because I read - replace the module not the glow plugs, and that it was relatively easy to change without removing all the stuff mentioned in this thread. Also there is a youtube that shows the guy doing it in 15 minutes.
NOT MY EXPERIENCE! - If you loosen the hoses and dip stick and pull them out of the way you can see the module - But there was no way I could get my hand in there to disconnect wires.
Opinion - youtube says to disconnect wires first then take out the bolts. Anyone tried it taking out the bolts then disconnecting cables?

Youtube is right. Disconnect wires first, while the module is securely bolted in place.

There’s no way I could get my hands/tools in there with the intake manifold in place. Removing the manifold made it much easier to reach the module. I’m an amateur DIYer, so I don’t have to be fast like the professionals.

I have a question! I replaced my glow plugs and control module but still have the codes. Will the codes reset? Or will I have to delete them?
