Still enjoying mine, finally put on a 2nd set of tires, went with the Michelin PS ZP's. Anyone else try them yet? These are a world better than the Bridgestone's the car came with and still be run flats.

Cheers

Those of you that went from 19's to 18's on stock suspension, did the front gap increase?

That's not the exhaust flap then if you have it unplugged from the trunk, thats just the exhaust.. enjoy

Does anyone here currently have a VRSF 7"HD intercooler installed on your DCT 335is? It appears that with the larger rad fan, and the trans cooler in front, there is no room to go with a larger than stock intercooler? Am I wrong?

I'd rerally like to do it myself, but got it up on the lift and chickened out. If I am good to go, then I will schedule lift time again and take care of it, otherwise, I will have a NIB VRSF 7" HD intercooler for sale...

I'm running that intercooler on mine. I didn't do the install though.

Yes and I hate it. But I need new tires on my 19s and have a pretty fresh set of MPSS on my 18s (style 189) so I have those on until I decide to sell them

I had a VRSF 7" IC in for a couple yrs and upgraded to the HD a yr ago. The 7" fit easily and the HD takes up the same amount of space. Physically they're the same dimensions, just the core is denser. I did the install myself both times on ramps, but I did remove the bumper cap to make the fitting easier.

With regards to the sports tuned exhaust in our IS.... What components of the exhaust are different from the regular 335i? Is it just the mufflers?

I tried googling and there is no mention about what differs...

Need Advice 2011 335is

I recently bought a 2011 bmw 335is with 53k miles and the first day it gave me a engine malfunction reduced power message and I got it scanned and it was giving a 30FF code. After a week on my drive home the car started shaking hard so I pulled over and it was running really rough. I had to get the car towed to the dealership and they said that 3 of my injectors were leaking so they would replace them. Also, when I would try to use launch control the rpms would raise to 5000 and then when I let off the brake the car wouldn't take off instead rpms would drop to 1000 and then it would start to move. I'm sure I was doing it right but it just does not launch. (DCT Off-Sport On-Flag Shows-Let Off Brake-Keep Flooring). So after they completed replacing 3 injectors it ran rough and cylinder 1 still misfired for which they just replaced an injector. They believe that carbon build up could be causing the rough running issue so they are going to be walnut blasting the car next. I asked about the spark plugs and coils but apparently their technician says that those are both fine and that it is more likely carbon build up. As for the boost issue they are not seeing anything and that there are no other codes besides cylinder 1 misfiring so now I am wondering is there some way that injectors and carbon build up could have caused the 30FF or is there something they are doing right?? Thank you !!!!

Your scenario sounds exactly like mine, '11 335is with 54k. 30FF code that I cleared, now I'm frequently getting cyl 1 misfires whenever I get on it.

I'm doing walnut blasting, new plugs, and new coils next week in hopes to resolve it. I'm really hoping it's not my injectors. How much did the injectors run you?

Careful throwing parts at these cars, it will get expensive quick (My warranty paid out >10k in the first year).

30 FF is a boost leak, hopefully just a leaky charge pipe, aftermarket replacements are around $100 or so. Could be a weak diverter valve or leak at another post turbo part of the intake system as well.

For a cylinder 1 misfire, replace the plug and swap coils from 1 and 2. If the code moves it's the coil, if the plug is black and smells like gas its the injector, if the plug has oil on it it's the VCG (which can ruin the coil)

EDIT: Also note that there are multiple BMW NA extended warranties on our cars, see http://www.bmw-rp.com . For example, mine has the Footwell Module, Injectors, and Chargepipe covered 10Y120kM. I've had issues with all 3.

Thanks for the info on the extended warranties, I was unaware that injectors were covered for that long. Regarding the parts I mentioned, I'm going FBO + MHD soon and based on my past experience, plugs & coils make things run a lot smoother once the boost is cranked up.

So maybe I should make a trip over to the dealership before installing anything? I would love to have the injectors replaced now, even if they only replace half of them.

They fought hard before replacing the injector even though I told them which one it was when I dropped it off. They replaced the HPFP before they finally broke down and did it.

Instead of getting charged an hour diagnostic, I'd recommend doing the plugs to check. It is a very easy job. Pull the cowl (8 screws?), pull the engine cover (4 hex screws), disconnect and pull the coil, then you're there. You'll want the right socket for the plugs, though. Autozone has the same bosch plugs, even the part number.

If it's the injector it is very apparent, my bad plug was covered in black carbon and wet with gas, good ones should be grayish.

I recommend doing the walnut blast regardless if you're over 50k.
