Brake Question
I changed out my front brake pads, rotors and sensor with no problems. I do however have a couple of questions. The first question is regarding the caliper slide pins. Are they supposed to be greased? The Bentley manual says no. The other question is regarding the carrier bolts. Can those be reused or do I need to purchase new ones. The Bentley manual doesn't say. What do you all think?

I did my brakes about 60,000 miles ago and resued both the caliper mounting bolts and the caliper carrier bolts, no problems. Also, I did not grease the pins either, also no issues there.

You can spray the caliper pins with a can of brake cleaner but I didn't put grease on mine. Are you talking about the 2 bolts that hold the brake assembly to wheel hub?...You can reuse the bolts.

Brake Question
Yeah we are talking about the same bolts. I just want to make sure I'm doing it the same way as everyone else. I didn't grease the slide pins either and I re-used the carrier bolts. Thanks a bunch.

Maybe you should lube them. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=caliper

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
