The little black button...
For those of you who have it behind your gas pedal (N54/N55?) how often do u throttle hard enough that you engage it?
Discuss.

As far as I know, I believe it's called the kick-down mode. I have it on my '07 328i and I mainly just use it for fun going through an on-ramp.
I think the general idea is that the computer in the car downshifts one or two gears immediately to give you the most acceleration as possible. |

It is the kick down button. It downshifts the car as far as safely possible. Some people love it. Most hate it. I dont have a problem not hitting it when I dont want to . . . so I am indifferent.

this car doesnt have much turbo lag, unless maybe if you have a tune. what your noticing is probably the auto tranny, my 335 is a manual i rarely have to downshift to merge or pass, but when i drive my wifes x5 the auto downshifts and takes a second to gain power, its very annoying.

Probably. I had it in non-sport mode too, so figure that much.
