As we all know, dealers usually replace parts instead of fixing them. Looking at the intake manifold, it look to me that it should be feasible to clean the intake by using some flexible long brush (like oversized pipe cleaner brush).

dealer told me they need to clean intake manifold... which is funny cos I paid them $900 to do that last year. now theyre saying last time we cleaned it in house and didnt take it off the engine...just walnut blasted somehow? now they wanna send it out... im not paying again for something they didnt do properly the first time

oh, I know how you feel. I have had my car at the dealer since dec 24 and still don't know the exact date when I will get it back. But at least they do keep me in the loop and I hear something at least once a week.

I agree when it comes to loaners no reason to abuse them, we have to be glad dealers are willing to lend vehicles, in old days they din't care if you were immobilized I have loaded my loaner with over 12,000 miles before they have changed it to a different one

first it was delayed as puma couldn't make up their mind for walnut blasting, then they waited for the actual tool to come in to the dealer, then self fastening screws (took 3 weeks for them to arrive ) then air mass flow sensor then some other sensor (don't remember as it was all in the conversation and I don't have the final work papers yet), last part was the injector (one despite the fact I asked them to change them all but they go by puma and the codes) now they still have two codes popping up which I don't even ask anymore as I am done getting frustrated

After the carbon cleaning, the real fix is 6 new injectors and a new DDE. I had it all done at my local dealer and so far the car has been reliable. I hate to even type that for fear of jinxing myself.

I hope with clean intake, clean cylinder head, at least 1 new injector and a new DDE that things will start running smoothly. Now all i need to do is figure out what other modifications i should do that you all have educated me about. I'm feeling a little preventive spending is in order. Protect the injectors, physical/chemical/software approaches to reduce Carbon buildup, insure reliability of the post-combustion containment of the stream of hot gasses. I will be looking now to better understand the consequences of any/all of those modifications before spending any money. |

I had many issues with my 2009 335d. They replaced many things to make the SES light go away. When I recommended to them to replace the DDE, they said no. I still have 25k miles before my CPO warranty runs out and hopefully they will replace my DDE before I hit 100k miles.

Lucy you, I have been telling them about DDE and replacing all injectors and not just one but all I get back is "puma does not let us do all at once if there is no errors" I am so so frustrated by now
