F30 328i

Now F30 328i has been approved as EFV car.

The newest selling price is 479k for Sport/Modern/Luxury and 528k for M Sport Edition. (Yes, only 49k more for M Sport, way cheaper than E9x)

Just wonder anyone here would change his mind to grab a F30 sooner than expected?

Wow, that's really good news. Will people who've already bought one get a refund? Too bad the EFV designation doesn't cover M/T cars. A complete deal killer for me.

From the other local car forum, someone reported BMWHK did accept his MT 118i order at EFV price, but not sure whether that is an exception.

In fact, nowadays HK dealers are just crazy as no price reduction for MT orders. The latest fast automatic gearboxes should cost them more,or even not a lot more for bulk automatic order.

Definitely changed my mind. Was wondering whether they would offer discount at the end of the year but this news is good. The M Sport is decently priced as well. Test drive the car before. Ok the sound is not as silky smooth as before but it is not as horrible as it has been portrayed. I guess you have to take things into perspective with the movement to save fuel and all. The car does feel smooth and steering is accurate. Anyway, will plunge for it I think, deciding whether to go Estoril Blue or Black. May go for the Black I think.

Also, the M135i is coming to HK HK$540k. Very good price considering the power it generates. Would love to go for that but the rear legroom and all is really limited, so cannot for it. It is a real pity as would love to try that car out.

you can't just compare the $$$ for buying brand new car in HK and US. there is a first registration tax on top. Price of 335 in HK maybe similar to a M3 in US (i guess).

we still need to pay the tax though....the first registration tax is based on the car value when it is imported.

Haha, you're thinking along the right lines, but you'd want to import the car from somewhere where the steering wheel isn't on the wrong side of the vehicle. You would also have to under invoice the vehicle significantly. As a another poster mentioned the premium we pay is a based on the value of the car at first registration.

Seriously? Awesome. The salesman told me that there was some government regulation that made it impossible for MT cars to qualify.

Actually a 335i in HK is way more expensive than an M3 in the US. A 335i is over 100k in HK, a stripper M3 in the US is only 60k, figure 70k nicely equipped.

Around HKD500k depends on the options.

5 years warranty and service package/ or 50000 miles, which means apart from petrol, insurance and parking, you have no extra cost on owning bmws during that period. This is also one of the reasons that USA is still the largest market for BMW.

Imported cars (especially those big saloons/SUVs) in mainland China cost 20%-50% more expensive than Hong Kong. That's why people do import LHD cars to China and earn big money if they have special relationships.

Cars in the US/UK is almost the cheapest in the world. That's why you might realise people always fully load their cars or pick the top models in the US/UK,but vice versa in other Asian Countries.

I pretty sure BMWHK would have end of year sale, but maybe not in this year for 328i. That's the only way to beat MB in HKG.

M135i is definitely a good bang with its performance as a new model..

Agreed. They may offer discounts on the 320i I think. If it is correctly priced, pretty sure that they can attract a few MB drivers.

I still feel for that M135i but with the rear room so limited, it is putting me off!!! So frustrating as most car reviews are raving in their first drive of the car.

I found one of the common drawbacks of both F20/F30 is too difficult to get into and out from the rear seats. Legroom and headroom is alright though.

I haven't driven any F20/30 yet, but I would say F10 is the best and most innovative modern BMW so far.

After-sale service and warranties are pretty rotten in HK compared to the US or UK. This goes for almost all auto brands being sold in HK, not just BMW. This I never was happy about, but there is nothing I can do, sigh...

just call hk BMW, they can't reply me on the phone whether 328 m/t has tax exemption. I wait 1/2 hour they return me only a/t does. m/t is 555k, don't understand they are the same body, eng but not the transmission box the prices are difference. the BMW salesman explain to me that, he said 8 a/t gearbox is better n w/ faster response time than DCT.
if it is dct it will have more fun.
