For that I just need a few local people who are interested in getting their car dyno tuned one evening next week. To speed things up, I'll discount custom dyno tuning to a flat rate of $100. So the total price will be $100 plus $395 for the OFT. Just looking for 3 or 4 328s at this time. So if you are local and interested, please email me at shiv@vishnutuning.com with "328 OFT Tuning" in the subject line. Also, please include your contact info and a complete list of modifications in your car.

Cheers,
Shiv

US model 325 and 330 use the same computer. Since they already tested it on a 330, it should work on a 325i also.

Update: spent a few hours dyno tuning a forum members 2011 328 last night. Still have to get access to AFR target tables which I'm currently looking for in the rom. Hope to have the that done and the OTS mapping done towards the end of next week. Still picked up decent power through ignition and VVT tuning. Also improved drivability/response through dbw and torque limiter changes. I'll post up results later when I get to the office. The tune isn't complete by any means but it should give any idea of the direction we are going.

Cheers

Hi guys,
Here are the early results from last night. Stock (dotted) vs Partial OFT Tune (solid). This is on a stock 2011 328 with 6mt. On 91oct fuel. Only did some mild VVT, ignition timing and throttle remapping. Also raised rev limiter to 7100rpm (not that it's needed). Next up, I'll start to play with fuel targets and readjust everything again. Then more driving. Then comes the final calibration. But off to a good start....

Assuming all goes as planned, we expect to have the 328i/330i for sale within the next 2 weeks. Fully enabled with datalogging, on-screen datagraphing, activations, diagnostic functions, etc,. $395.

Cheers

Hmm, no major major improvement in power, but that hump starting around 3500 looks really nice!

Shiv, thanks for posting that. You are going to send me the pdf too right?

It was a pretty long night, and clearly more needs to be done, but I am impressed with the progress Shiv made in a few hours as I was watching.

As you can see from the graph, the improvements are so far limited, but I would say there are already some tangible improvements beyond a few HP gain. The throttle response, which is very lethargic stock, is noticeably better, although still not quite "there" yet. The tone of the engine noise from the hood is more aggressive and somewhat louder, especially above 4K RPM. Overall the car feels more aggressive, which I really like. It does however feel like the ECU may have pulled back a little since the morning, as my evening drive felt a bit more "normal" than my morning one. But it's hard to tell for sure with the limited seat time I've had since last night.

My understanding is that Shiv still needs to get access to AFR targets, and also needs more time to play with VANOS. But I personally think the final product will come out very nicely. I certainly got the impression that Shiv is serious about developing something that delivers real, measurable gains.
