been running jb4 map 2 without DP or ntercooler for about a month
hey guys, like the title says, ive been running map 2 with stock downpipe and stock intercooler.(N55) I've never encountered any problem with the car, the car has been running awesome for about a month ( 1500miles). I feel like it is much safer to run map2 than Map 5 with E85 which gives me about 17-18psi on 3rd gear. plus, I've been driving really hard pretty much all the time on my way home from work, freeway and local. don't be afraid to run map 2 without dp if u really want to try it. out.

Do u know how much crank hp/tq do i get on map 2?? I raced against modded camaro ss n i beat him but not by much..but smoked modded genesis 2.0t. For some reason, car seems to go much faster at nigh time than the day time. |

My guess would be 330-340 whp. Add some e85 and that's whole different story

Terry have spent hundreds of hours testing all these maps, he has specified to use map 2 with catless downpipes only for a reason .

Probably due to the cooler temps, indicating you probably need to upgrade your FMIC.

ehh not exactly.. if you check the map guide off of n54tech terry updated the map guide (n55 stage 2 jb4) for map 2 to say high flow exhaust.. this most likely is still referring to a downpipe.. or an exhaust that really reduces back pressure. but i don't think ive ever heard of any cars getting ruined from running map 2 with no dp .

I was pretty much saying ive had zero problem while running map 2 without aftermarket dp. so, if anyone wants to try map 2 to see what it feels like, I am confident that there wouldn't be a problem for short period of time judging from my experience. if anyone thinks it would damage the car, then don't do it

You're playing with fire.
In before the thread that says "my car has a half engine light, went into limp home mode and I'm getting towed to the dealership! " Come on dude...it's like fucking prostitute without a condom- you might get lucky sometimes, but there will be that one time you might just get the gift that keeps on giving. Don't fuck around...get an upgraded intercooler at the very least- at the most- an upgraded FMIC, an upgraded charge pipe, and perhaps an oil cooler. Trust me, it's not a matter of IF something will go wrong, but when. |
