I have heard magnaflow mufflers on a BMW and it sounds ok. I am going with a Ikon exhaust. Here are a few videos with this exhaust

I say go for it. It doesn't seem that expensive and if you don't like you can always change it out.

most of us who have done the 328 to 335 exhaust conversion have used magnaflow part # 12158, especially for a coupe

Cant go wrong with a magnaflow. However (dont flame me for this) i was thinking of putting cherry bomb glasspacks for the muffler and magnaflows as tips with no res. ive heard it done on a V8 5 series and boy does it sound nice. But im contemplating on whether it would sound good or not on a 3 series.

those tips are horrendous looking, like bad is-f replicas, and it is backfiring the entire down time on the RPM's, due to poor design and installation

yeah my friend put glasspacks on his old toyota pickup a week ago. and i thought, shit... i wonder what it would sound like on a I6 bmw. Sure enough i found a 5 series with glasspacks on youtube. It probably sounds nice though just because its a V8, im thinking its gonna sound like your typical honda running a fart can when put on our 3 series.
