Gearbox TCU remap anyone ?

So I have found 2 people in the UK that have remaps for the 335d Autobox:-
JF Automotive and JR Tuning....both in Kent

Both seem to be saying the same about the gains and both have hand held flash units to do it.

Has anyone had this done on a 335d and if so did you actually notice much of a difference.

I am really keen to do this but before I spend out wanted some reviews

I think we are making progress on this for a North America based trans tune. Sit tight guys. And we can send to England too

If work stops kicking my ass, I will have another flash to try in the next day or so. Will report the findings.

That was a no-go. Tried stealing the flash from the 6HP19 and applying it. Would not take.

Mine is done (20 miles ago) and is better already and I still have it to complete its adaption yet.

TC locks up quicker - caught me by surprise too on the 1st corner I did in 1st gear !!!
delay on paddles is shorter
actual gear change is quicker and feels firmer when it engages

So there is a noticeable delay with the paddle shifters. I knew I wasn't going crazy.

I want this remap so bad. The slushbox is my #1 issue with the car right now.

My buddy has just certified this is as junk. Wonder if the lube came with that ridiculous price tag of $700.

My car drives totally different to before and I like what has changed in the way the gearbox works and the torque convertor locks up really quickly. night and day difference. So whatever it does, I Like It !!!!

In my experience resetting the adaptation values does nearly nothing. I have never noticed a difference after resetting the adaptations and I've done it twice. Looking forward to hearing more about these details, not sure why there aren't already details of you already know it's junk.

Truth. I just stopped doing it once every couple of days. Our slushbox just plain blows.

Nobody said anything about already knowing its junk. A forum member this side of the pond is testing the tool at the moment and that's where the details will come from. A few of us were suspicious and rightly so. Things don't add up to what the claims from the manufacturer are (who actually isn't JFA anyway). First flag is it takes 20 seconds to do its thing. You can't "remap" a trans in 20 seconds on these cars, it's just not possible. If you guys want to blow $700 on this thing be my guest. But hey, for those who are happy with their purchase, good for you! I'm sure any difference on even just the lockup is an improvement....

Remapping the DDE threw OBD takes me around 1 min for the maps section, so flashing the trans in 20 s is possible because the file is smaller.

Converter locking configuration can only be modded with a remap...

I've contacted them few weeks ago, and they have many files ready function of hardware and software versions of our tcu's, needed in case of a remap.

I'm very interested too but a little too expensive for the moment I think...

I would like to study the stock file before for beeing able to mod the file myself.

Interesting information if its possible like you say. Although I'm more interested in someone like yourself being able to mod the file and creating something custom for some of us. The results seen so far over here are just not meeting the claims....
