New Brake rotor/pads
Just installed this week. Parts from iRotors...the pads needs to get conditioned before they perform better.

Front and rears, rotor, pads, sensor. www.irotors.com
They are out of the rear pads (E90), but will ship when available (or credit this part if bought as a combo set). Ceramic pads in rear now, which added an extra $65 on the install. A little squeek, but should stop after a "break-in" period....about 200 miles.

My rear brakes needed the service initially. The cost of doing the rear set at the dealer was even more than the cost of doing all four!!

check as E90 or E92, i or xi. They are on holiday (phone recording) but they got back to my email same day. You may want to request them made special...since they specialize in rotors.
I think E90 still covers 335 (325, 328) ...contact them to make sure. 335 is turbo, but should be same brake system.

Beside the better feel of thicker pads, the braking grab feel has been slowly improving. Still some sqeeeeeeks during slow to very slow (5mph) braking. So far it's been a week with about 50 miles daily 1/2 street and 1/2 highway driving. I am still careful not to brake too hard to "glaze" the pads, which will make them sound even more. I've been dragging the brake well before where I anticipate to stop.
I can't wait to do some real performance driving on these!! Do spacers affect the performance of brakes?? I don't have them, but is wondering.

One nice word about iRotors:
I found them through ebay, but called to place the order. The lady that took the order dropped ship them to me even though both the company and I are in CA and should have charged tax...plus they had freeeee shipping. The sensors (front & rear) they added was very inexpensive with the package. I figure they make good rotors when I decided with them.

Notice the grove direction relative to rotation on the install. My brake install guy said the brake performance is better this way. I may have to research this a little bit.

So far so good. Very low incidence of sqeaks, but still present...not as loud. Still dragging the brake and taking it easy. Maybe another week until I go for the ABS and test distance. Getting more grippy, without being too grippy like OEMs.

Also, taking it easy won't lay down a pad transfer layer onto the rotor that is necessary to get all the performance you paid for. A lot of times, depending on many factors (pad material, installation procedure, shims, rotor design, etc.), they will quiet down as well. All standard stuff, but YMMV. |

louder squeaking during higher speed deceleration at around 30 mph with mid foot pressure. May need to bring it in.

That's an understandable installation error, but not acceptable. That said, I have seen more than one M3 over the years with rotors installed backwards from the factory. Monkey see, monkey do.

See that rotor pic is the rear right, and the fins are pointing forward (such that the outside hole/slot are entering the pads first). This rotor should be on the rear left. If I knew anything about the install, I would had said something, but I took it to a local brake service place thinking they could do this blind folded. Should have taken it to Longtran.
They did the switch and roughed up the pads and now, no squeek noise. Magic!
