V1.45 installed & big improvment (oil temp)

Let me start off by saying , when I first got the procede v1.4 , the car was running strong but oil temps kept rising from 240-280 periodicaly . I've been running v1.45 with frequent WOT and 80+temps , my oil temp never goes pass by 250 . A big to Shiv and their staff for their time and technology ! Keep up the good work guys , looking forward for the new maps !

"visual observations" are just as susceptable to placebo as "feelings"

Garage List
I installed 1.45 this morning and I feel it is much smoother now. I will check for oil temp tomorrow.

Install was absolutely straigthforward. Took less than ten minutes to access the serial port and five to reinstall everything. I will probably follow Eugen's advice and install a bluetooth connection.

Hey any of you guys running 1.4 feel a surging right around 4k rpms. I just started noticing this tonight, only happens to me in 2 and 3 gear (that i have tried). The car will for a second lag from 3k to 4k rpms, then kick in the boost. And i am not down shifting or anything from a higher gear, just rolling start from 2nd gear at about 1500 rpms. Hopefully 1.45 clears this up for me.

On my procede 1.4 version, WOT driving the highest I get is 250.
I cant wait to see what 1.45 brings me. Hopefully it gets rid of the surge/hesitation I am experiencing between 3k and 4k rpms.

V1.45 is almost the exact same as V1.4. Shiv just made some very minor changes and added encryption so people could not view his maps with Haltech's software.

No way your going to see a 30 degree difference due to upgrading to V1.45.

My stock 335i routinely reaches 250 w/o WOT driving.

actually, 1.45 still opens... same way as before... of course, its still just as usless, because all the goodies are in the firmware, lots of stuff doesnt show up correctly in the software... just some maps, that reference generic numbers that really dont tell you much of anything...

full encryption will probably be in version 2

So 1.45 per his documentation on the vishnu forums says:

"That you will notice is a smoother performance in the 2000-3000rpm range. As well as a little better fuel economy during cruise conditions. You'll also notice some partial throttle improvements. There is also a bit more power at very high RPM (6500-6800rpm). A worthwhile upgrade in our opinion."

I hope "partial throttle improvements" take care of my hicups in my car from 3 to 4 thousand rpms.

You are correct that V1.45 still opens with Haltech's software. Shouldn't the V1.4 and V1.45 maps be different though? Because I compared both of them and they are the exact same.

There is stuff in the file that can only be viewed by shiv's version of the software, the haltech version doesnt correctly see some of the mapping, and the PROcede user software is stripped down.

It just goes to prove that this is not just a haltech unit, it might share the hardware in ways, and have things in common... but Vishnu has created a custom set of functionality that is unique to the PROcede and its custom firmware/software.

Shiv is being honest when he says "its not just a haltech interceptor"

I used to feel this exact effect, but in all gears, with 1.2, but I don't notice it with >1.4.

Hmm maybe my Procede has 1.2 loaded on it.
Well tommorow I plan to disconnect the procede to see if the car does it. Also curious to see how slow the car will feel, will make me appreciate the power more!!!

Then I plan to update to 1.45.

i just did this yesterday and haven't noticed any differences yet w/ oil temp, but i will say that the cars performs/behaves much better than the 1.4 map. acceleration is much smoother and a bit more intense.

Wow I just flashed my 1.45 . It was so easy. Shiv you should use the Geico Motto. "So easy even a caveman can do it"

Didnt get to test it yet, but looks promising from what others have been saying. Cant wait for the morning commute.
