Coding multiple Cars... Best way to keep organized?

Hello! I've been coding on my 06 e90 now and I've been following the instructions found on the BMW CODING SUCCESS thread perfectly (making backups where I need to and such)...

my brother now wants me to do some coding on is 08 e92 M3. My question now is what is the best way to organize my work flow so that that when I create a profile for his car in NCS Expert, I don't confuse his car with mine? I know it sounds like a noob question, but I followed to DIY.pdf on the other threads word for word, and I dont want to screw anything up hahaha

Yeah that don't matter. It just a profile which allows the scripts to he edited. Don't matter who uses it. What matters is the trc file you save and you can put it in another folder for backup

As cn555ic says you just create the coding profile once. That said, here's what I do to keep organized.

- Every car gets a spreadsheet (name, year, model, features coded, modules read, etc.)
- Backup original trace file
- Backup new .man file
- Naming convention for trc/man files
~~ Convention: <NAME>_<MODULE>_<TRC/MAN>
~~ Example Trc: CN555IC_FRM_TRC
~~ Example Man: CN555IC_FRM_MAN
- Take notes if issues occur

Of course, I make backups of the originals--usually owner's initials and their model in folders.

I also make a point of copying log files to those folders, in case I ever want to reference something that didn't work as expected.

i also saved a copy of the E9x code list onto my computer and added columns of whose car was modified when for each code.
