what acid based rail dust remover

do the expert detailers use?

I did a search but did not find an answer. Is there a consumer acid based rail dust remover that I can buy to use on my bmw? If you are wondering, I read that it will remove rail dust. Picus or DavidN or Shimshimhada?

if you read this, you will understand why I asked. Paint experts suggested that it is safe to use to remove rail dust. But I cannot find anywhere where to get this solution hence my question).

And no i would not pour 100% acid onto my car or touch it with my hand.

clay bar just removes the top portion of th e contaminant. Be it rail dust, rust, ect. Acid actually works quite well...

Go to FK1usa.com and look at their Decontamination kit. Its really simple to use, and does a more complete job than what clay bar does in some aspects. Clay bar still has its place though as there are things a 3 step chemical cleaning system wills till not remove.

That is what I was reading. And it seems like acid is quicker process then clay bar. I think with clay bar, you have to do it in small section (which i have no patient for). With a mild acid wash, it should be a quicker process But the word 'acid' makes me a little nervous using it on car surfaces . Maybe it is called something else so that ppl are not nervous using it. I will look into FK products. Very interesting.

If I dont feel comfortable, i just continue with my current process of cleaning my car. seems to work for me and I am happy with it (but hated the rail dust).

Don't use acid on your paint. Use a decontamination spray like JOYRIIDE linked, or an all purpose cleaner with clay. Acid is for alloy wheels only imo (and only sparingly).

Picus, Step #2 in the FK1 Deco Kit is actually a light acidic blend. It primarily states that its for use on removing rail dust, and metal particles of paint. Again, its lightly acidic in comparison to something like wheelbrightner.
