JB3 Interface Program

I am having a hard time figuring out this "interface program" so I can do some datalogging. I have done some research/e-mailed Terry/etc, but still have yet to get the answers I need

Basically, I am looking for some instructions on how to install the interface (step by step for a dummy )

Here is what I have done so far:

1. I downloaded the interface from here this website http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6351 (I clicked on the "JB3 4/22/10 beta interface: 4/22 Interface Download. Must be used with 4/21 or later firmware. If you have older firmware upload the new firmware before attempting to change any settings") - This was a zip file that I downloaded, is this correct?

2. I clicked on the read_me_first from the zip file. I then downloaded the appropriate cable from here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm. Again, this is a zip file. Is this correct?

3. I've tried to download the software from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en. Then it gave me this message: "this wizzard will guide you through the installation process", I hit next, and then this message pop up: "This product is not supported on a 64-bit operating system. setup will exit now"

I've repeated these steps several times with no sucess. I plan on deleting everything I've downloaded and start from the beginning. Can anyone guide me through what to do, where to start, where to download what, etc?

TIA!
