Front Differential Leak
My car was making funny noises from the front (rattling), so I took it to the dealers to get it checked out. Turns out there was a leak from the front differential. They said it cost about $3400 to repair...I'm assuming they are going to replace the whole thing?
Car is a 328XI and is out of warranty . Would I be able to get a private shop to fix the leak and refill the fluids for cheaper? Or will I really have to replace the whole thing? Thanks |

depends where the leak is coming from and what other parts need to be removed to do the repair.
$3400 sounds a little high though |

If you are out of warranty....forget the stealership. Take it to a certified indy.
