Neil thanks for the pics, any pics of the crash damage? Did you buy them both brand new?

yup, none of the crash. To be honest it wasn't that bad, he hit me at about 5/10MPH rear driverside quarter took the freaking monkeys at Scothall 4 weeks to sort it and they managed to drop a tool on the boot lid which then had to be replaced. I sold it really because the manual was so notchy I'd be coming home and have an aching arm as I used to drive into London every day. Both outstanding motors though.

not that i could tell. But BMW released V24 of the SMG software in late 2003 and that made the SMG feel alot faster for some reason.

Ive only ever driven the CSL and the SMG is that was ferocious. I have been out in Post 04 SMG m3's as a passenger and they too shifted very well.

Neil - my R32 Golf had a real problem with power delivery at around 2500rpm - to the point where it was almost dangerous. A bit of checking up showed a software upgrade that was essential (VW kept it a bit quiet though) - the flat spot disappeared and it also released about 15 more bhp!
All by plugging it into a laptop. How is the new M3? I really do like them very much indeed. |

its very very very good but unfortunately I've not had a decent amount of driving in it. I'm in Silicon Valley at the moment and will be for most of this week. Weekend I'm on a 2 day Jazz Beer Festival bender with JTQ and the Chicago Blues Brothers, then a RC Race on Sunday followed by a week of customer meetings.
Neil.

In my city
BMW drivers are called BMWer but in a nasty manner because most of them drive badly, have ricy cars and like to swing it on the curves. And i dont know why but most of them have a beard and dark tint LOL I am much different so people are shocked when they know I drive a BMW. They cannot understand until they are behind the wheels |

Had my car for a year now and never had any abuse but plenty of admiring glances wherever I go.....the car, not me.
So many times it has taken me ages to get out of a parking lot as people come over and want to look over the car. In the summer I had to run an errand in a run down neighbourhood and 5 shifty looking teenages that were hanging around the shops were stood around the car when I came back. They never touched it and were genuinely interested in the car and fired about 20 questions at me about the car before I could leave. |
