Map 5 is almost always too aggressive for the stock flash unless you're running it with fbo. It may make more boost, but it'll bring timing down around 0 degrees a lot of times which isn't good. Map 1 is usually best for cars like his, he needs a fmic, e85, or backend flash if he needs to run a more aggressive map. Map 5 is, generally speaking, more so made for e85 mixtures. More boost and less timing is really hard on the turbo(s). More timing and less boost is best.

See above. Map 5 will pull a lot of timing to run 15psi, map 2 will be pulling a lot of timing on 14.5psi too without supporting mods. Map 1 is probably best for your car at the moment. Pulling a lot of timing and running more boost is not good for the engine and is very inefficient.

Map5 will drop boost. It has no set boost target.

Regardless the OP needs to log things so we can offer the best suggestions.

Correct, but in order to run 15 psi, it'll pull timing.

When you say less efficient are you referring to mpg or performance. I do run e85 regularly..this week a few gallons of 104. I have less mods than the op. I had posted my logs on n54 and they said they were pretty normal other than air IAT...which was a little high.

More boost and less timing is not very efficient in general. It's running the turbo(s) harder to make more boost but then it pulls timing which decreases performance. Pulling no timing with the most amount of boost would be the best. It's easier on your turbo(s). You want the "avgign" value in logs to be zero if possible. Usually this can only be done with meth or e85. Since you're running e85 mixes, map 5 would probably be your best choice.

But for a dyno run should I do it in map 2?

Also wouldn't a dyno run be the same as taking logs?

What. No. A dyno shows power and torque and a rough afr. Logs show many, many parameters.

Target boost
boost
iat
afr
pwm
hpfp pressure
lpfp pressure
duty cycle
ignition retard
ignition on all cylinders

to name a few. i'd suggest learning more before you dyno. you need to see which map is best for your car.

Where is avgign? Looking at my logs do not see that parameter. The avg advance number is 2 or below.

Column M of logs in excel. Total avgign is at the top next to the info and tmap_v.

I have not run logs in excel..only use the jb4 interface...I don't even have excel either, so I guess I won't be getting that info.

Yeah, I mean the JB4 logs. Do you ever open the .csv file in excel after you export it from the JB4 interface?

So, I tried datazap and was not able to drag the file or browse for it...so I sent it to my other computer which has excel and the avgign is 2.4. to update...got it on datazap on my other computer...it's 2.4.

2.4 on E30 is higher than it should be, at least on the N54, I'm not that familiar with N55 logs, though, for the most part they're very similar. Ideally it should be zero on map 5, or any map for that matter.
