Help Needed - What does this cap go to?

I have an E90 (2008 BMW 328i sedan) and when I removed the bottom cover of my car to do some work, this was resting in it. It is a somewhat pliable, squishy rubber. Any ideas?

Damper that goes under the airbox.

To put it back simply remove air filter housing and ducts. Easy job.

Very piece I just ordered. If you touch your airbox enough, it will inevitably fall out. That said, IIRC you just push it down to reinstall. The airbox rests upon it like a pedestal.

You will probably notice your intake duct connection to the airbox is getting a little stressed by the connection tab. It WILL form back into shape once you take it off and let it reform a bit. But it will have a lot less stress when you put that piece back underneath.
