Question on a lease
So right now I have around 9 months left on my 325 and am actively looking for a 335. My lease payment is around 515+tax/month and with trading in my dads old car can get a 335 for around that right now. So my question is how do I get out of this lease and start a new one asap for a 335. Is it possible? Basically do dealerships do programs where if you are going to lease a new car from there but still have time left you don't pay a ridiculous penalty? Right now that is the only thing holding me back and I'm finally decided to ask for help..so please...HELP!

You can either find someone to take over the lease, or turn it in with a few months left at the end and the dealers will "take care" of the last few payments for you. I believe they would just roll those payments onto your next car. There is no program where you can simply end a lease with 9 months left.

You could buy the car out at the current lease balance (+ taxes) and sell it and hopefully break even or make a profit. Not sure if you would have to buy it (+ taxes) before selling it, or if you could sell it and then pay BMWFS off. Depends if you need clear title ownership to sell it. It is also possible that you could get your BMW dealer to buy you out, though the likelihood is you would only get wholesale value. You might also be able to use CarMax. I was thinking of doing the same thing with my E46 last fall (with 6 months left on the lease) but it got to be such a hassle (insulting offers from dealers even though I was going to buy a new car) so I decided to wait and ordered a new car for delivery when I turn the car in shortly at lease-end.

Since it's not recommended that you put money down on a lease, you should use that trade-in to lower the MF instead. Also, definitely consider European Delivery. You could go on a Euro vacation in the summer and get your car delivered about a month or two before your lease ends. I'll be more than happy to answer any question you may have about leasing.

went to kbb.com and if they give me the good condition value I can get $26.xxx and my buy out is $28,xxx, in the end i would lose around 2k but with the Security Deposits from the used car it brings that down from 8-10k to 6-8k so if i can get the deal that ive been talking to my dealer friend about then it might make sense to do, plus the payments are around 40 bucks cheaper a month....hmmmm

I took a 530i over to carmax yesterday and they offered about 10 grand less then KBB..wtf is up with that? and thats even lower then the worst type on kbb...they had 325's over there for 21 slightly less equipped and more miles but still am I being too optimistic to be wanting within 1500 of kbb?

Btw.. not mentioning this to be an ass or anything.. just hoping to help save you some moolah on the next lease. I got mine through ED and w/o many of the fancy extra options though, so I'm sure those are factors as well (Oh and yes, we all know that monthly pmt is just one of many factors that go into a lease, but all else being equal, I'm still kinda surprised by your pmt on the current 325) Good Luck!!
