BMW Individual

I'm interested in getting more information on trying to get BMW Individual parts for a US 335i. I ran a search to see what I could come up with and from what I read, it sounds like your BMW dealer has to provide a BMW Individual car VIN in order for BMW hq to ship a BMW Individual part. I didn't read any confirmation of this so I'll ask if anybody knows for sure if we can order BMW Individual parts for a non-Individual car, please let me know what the process is.

I'd love to order the piano balck finish. I think it looks sick with the grey interior.

I hope nobody comes back and says that it is 100% impossible because that would be a shame.

I think many members here buy this part from Tischer BMW, it says High-Gloss Black. I never see it in person, so I don't know whether it looks same with Piano Black.

Piano Black and the High-Gloss Black from Tischer aren't the same. If you look here you can see that OC 335i has the High-Gloss and it has small metallic flakes in it. I've often wondered if we could get the Individual packager here in the States as well, I know you can for the 7 series, but past that I'm in the dark.

I live in Canada not in the US. I have a 335i on order. My car is not from the Individual Collection it is however a custom order. I am getting the Piano Black trim (66W) along with Silver Grey metallic exterior paint (A08). You can try to get the PN from realOEM.com for the trim and see if you can locate a US dealer that can order non-US parts for you. Be ready to pay $$$.

What color interior?

Mine is April '08 delivery.

Terra leather interior (LCB8). Build date in December (if all goes as planned dunno about custom order...). My CA is expecting delivery in mid Feb.

Ah the joys of the Individual Program. I tried to get Shadowline trim, Antracite Headliner and M-Aerodynamic packges but couldn't.

Good luck with the wait. It will be rewarding. Your car will be stunning.

Yes we can but we could have saved some dough by having it done at the factory and the install would be A+.

Oh well I might do mine later. My front bumper will have to come of for the Euro Xenon install anyway.

I just noticed you removed the Anthracite Headliner from your sig. Did this fell through?

Could either of you shed some light on what the difference is between custom order and individual? Clearly, they allow you to get equipment that you normally can't get with regular packages, but why pick one over the other?

I'm going to be giving my current ride back in May '08, and want to order a 335. I would love to get a unique colour combo, so it sounds like one of these options would help me... but it also sounds like I'll have to order the car yesterday if I want to get it in May!!

Any light you could shed on the process and availability of items would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I am searching the forums as well (that's how I found this post), but the fact that both of you are in Canada means I'll likely get the most pertinent info from you.

Welcome to E90Post. Custom versus Individual:

Custom, you can get any color you want but more expensive than Individual. You can also remove certain options like moonroof or in my case adaptive xenon. You will have to pay a one time fee of $400 IOT make the order custom (ZSP). Then you will have to pay applicable additional fee for the things you want custom. Paint, trim add $$$ and removal of standard options no-cost but no reduction in price either.

Individual, in Canada we only get ext paint and trim. You are limited with paint choice but it is cheaper than a custom color.

sparkyg is getting an Individual and I am getting a custom. Feel free to ask us any question you may have.

I got the black auto shift know from Tischer, they stock it.

I have an E90 so my VIN won't help you.

Do you already have your car or are you ordering it?

You can try through your dealer parts department. Hopefully you don't need a specific VIN. Not all cars with Piano Black are Individual BMW.
