Hey, what do you guys think for my AW E90... gunmetal, hyper black, or matte black CSLs? I think I might pull the trigger on these soon so that I can save my stock rims/tires for lease turn-in.

I am leaning towards the gunmetal. The hyper blacks have a chrome shine to them which I think makes them look cheap, or more "ghetto". I have always liked black rims on a white car, but the matte's are so dark you can't really even seen the spoke detail unless you are right up on them. Hell they could be mistaken for steel spare rims to the untrained eye...

Gunmetal is what I like, If I didn't get my rims I would have
definitely gotten CSL's instead, but I see them around 2 often :P

Im starting to like my rims more though. I have liked them
on and off for a while now, but they look a lot better
when driving by a buildings window

And yeah thats the wifes 07 tiburon , Its all right for her i guess , haha

my problem with matte black is that theres not enough contrast between wheel and tire, and in the end, it just looks like a dirty wheel.

i would go with the gunmetal, personally. or just keep the stock silver... it looks gunmetal with brakedust lol

Hmm, I don't have jack stands...I would put the new wheels on myself since they would come mounted and balanced. Anyone here have a set of jack stands? Volks....Alpine....911?

I have a jack and jack stands, but I think my bro might have
left them at a friends house I need to see and find out.
To put on the exhaust the easiest way was putting
a jack under the rear diff and putting jacks stands
in the back jack points.

Well I found out my exhaust sounds a lot better than I thought it
did. Standing behind a car driving away and being inside it
was no comparison. I mean it sounded alright when I was inside
the car, but not really like a bimmer.

My SA took the car back in the back to have a tire checked
for me and its throatier than I thought ha and pops more than
I thought(even though every time I let off the gas it pops) , but like good popping not ricer popping, ha its hard to explain.

Im just going on about nothing again, but at least
I now think it sounds better than it did because I have never heard it being driven off

Yeah I have a jack and stands, but have never used the stands. I have the craftsman aluminum jack and some cheap ac/delco stands.

Honestly TN, why don't you just go ahead and invest in buying your own jack? Having a jack ...and a quality torque wrench really opens up your modding possibilities, and makes things a whole lot easier- LUX installs. I realize you may only need it for one thing, but IMHO its really worth it to just buy your own so you know you have it for the future.

Yeah....this is true. I have a nice torque wrench but should probably pick up a jack and some stands.

Oh, and my modding bug as of late may get put on hold depending on if the Preds make the playoffs....those damn playoff tickets aren't cheap.

Hey guys, I got into the Vanderbilt MBA program!! I'm really excited. Although I have to figure out a way to pay off my car and save money to live for 2 years before september comes around and I quit my job. And that's without counting the 80,000 tuition over 2 years that I will put in a loan. any suggestions?

Congratulations!

Government sponsored student loans will cover living expenses. You probably won't be doing much partying, with all the studying (if you want to do well). I lived rather frugally during graduate school, enough to afford an engagement ring with student loans. I didn't have time to spend money, with studying so much and long hours. Ring wasn't cheap, either.

I don't recommend it, but you can take out more student loans privately, in addition to the government sponsored loans. Interest higher, and, as with the governement loans, interest accrues during school. If you don't get a job right away, there may be some means to defer payment (at least with the governement-sponsored loans). Talk to someone at your local bank for info on student loans, after researching government-sponsored student loans.

Trade down the car? Civic for now? BMW will have all of the M3 bugs worked out in 2 years.

I'd like to make it...if I can get off from work on time (closing the year here)... even if it is at the tail end of the party... don't want to miss the M3... and the 1-series... I am taking a look at it for my wife...

Are you going to make it?
