car wont start 06325i
So as the title says, car won't start. Was in the middle of car wash, and then all of a sudden the abs light came on. Couldn't go anywhere or anything since in the middle of the car wash. Then a red exclamation with a circle around it, with bumps on the outside, looks like a gear almost? And car shook, then died. Car then wouldn't start and a gentleman and myself had to push car out. When i try to start the car, it try's to turn over and then computer shuts off. I can't take it anywhere right now its 4th of July and its stuck at a gas station. any help to try would be appreciated. And I have read several things about it being starter or battery but in the middle of car wash just die like that?

have you added any mods lately or had any services lately? sounds like it could be a sensor or something. best thing is have taken to an indy or to dealer and have it scanned. also if it was in the car wash something could have got wet and caused a short cicuit somewhere. good luck with the solution

Looks like water got somewhere it doesn't belong. You have a brake malfunction which triggers a ABS and DTC malfunctions as well. When you say it doesn't start, is it a crank no start, or no crank at all?

well guys i did get it started, ses light stayed on. then all the other lights came on and car died again. made a weird sound when i pressed on gas. i hope its just the alternator. if something got wet that shouldn't have isn't that a design flaw or something? my car is completely stock, only "mods" i have done were that i put eyelids on thats about it.

Did you get the red battery symbol before the car died? These cars kind of freak out when voltage drops causing the instrument board to light up like a christmas tree. Just had the alternator die on my E90 and these are similar symptoms to what I experienced.
Good luck man, sorry for the issues... |

No that's a brake malfunction. (you said it had "bumps on the side) Limp mode is a yellow half filled engine.

Could be your torque convertor clutch stuck ? Who knows, have the code read by a shop (or a bavarian tool, the regular code reader will give you little info). |

Honestly I don't know. The fact that it failed first inside a car wash points to an electrical/sensor problem, but it may be unrelated. If the ECU detects a condition in the gearbox that would make it grenade itself it may just decide to prevent you from starting. Without a proper reading of the computer and a visual inspection, this is all speculation.

I made a thread called Warning, Starting, Problems which was about the same situation like yours but I solved mines with a battery change. There was another member having the same problem like me but for him a new Crankshaft Position Sensor fixed all his problems.
So try searching for my thread maybe some info on there will help you out. |
