Heads up for anybody who uses Stoney Trail, the cops are policing this road very heavily recently.

Almost every morning for the past two weeks, there has been a cop hiding between the concrete pillars under Deerfoot.

Today was the first day he actually locked his laser gun onto me. Every other time, he's been too busy with other cars (he seems to stop them in groups).

There are also frequent RCMP cops cruising back and forth, with their radar turned on, and city cops like to hide on the off-ramps at various intersections, so you don't see them until it's too late.

I think they have found their new gold mine in Calgary!

I know! Doesn't matter what radar you have if he hits you from behind.

They have been doing it for the past couple months now and I don't speed after seeing a few get pulled over like this.

Pump # 4? Hmm I guess as long as they keep replacing them for free and you get a loaner it's ok. Hassle but thats the price to pay for a nice car with couple flaws?

The warranty for the tires/rims price is negotiable? When I get my car I will decide on that, as well as paint protection, leather protection (although I have the leatherette, and 3M). Also the extended warranty. That is a must isn't it if one plans to keep for more than 48 months.

Everything at dealerships is negotiable, apart from tax items!

Don't bother getting any 'protection' services offered by the dealership, these are *huge* profit items for them, and offer little benefit.

- Paint Protection = bulk-produced sealant. You can get far better products from places like e-shine or 604 Auto Care. Even Autoglym SRP (Canadian Tire) is a better product.

- Leather Protection = bulk-produced leather conditioner.

- Undercoat = Total waste of time on modern BMWs, and far too messy.

- Rust/Corrosion Protection = Already done from the factory. Dealerships like to double-dip on this one.

3M is certainly worth it, but don't get it done at the dealership. The quality of install is often worse than if you were to go somewhere like Shadow Tinting.

And carefully check your paint when you get the car -- at BMW Gallery, they have the worst detailers in the city. Both my brand new 335i, and my wife's Mini Countryman were covered in swirls.

I had to go at both cars with a full 2-step power polish to make them acceptable!

Calgary > Gallery any day of the week. . .

Service wise neither, but if you have to. . . Calgary since they don't have to deal with the Mini's at all. Quicker available appointments as well.

Charge pipe / BOV FINALLY arrived today .. that took over a month!

This one has the elbow already as part of the main pipe. I'll slip that on my car tomorrow evening.

I also have the FSB meth controller.. last piece of the puzzle is the pump & tank!

Edit -- Installed pic is below .. holy crap this BOV is obnoxiously loud! But I love it.. and my throttle response has totally transformed with this.

I am in love with my car all over again!

hey bigup what kind of charge pipe is that I've also read getting one will allow the car to throttle better what do you think of this on an AT?

The charge pipe is from Evolution Racewerks; I know charge pipes and BOVs get negative feedback on our cars, but these people simply cannot have not tried them .. !

E90Vader has the same pipe/BOV .. and he is auto. Its still loud, just not as loud as on a manual car during a lazy shift.

I think the CP/BOV set up is essential for high boost applications, I've heard stories of the stock DV simply not holding up.

Are you going to get a JB4??

Absolutely; any time. I just checked Canada Post, and apparently my meth kit is out for delivery! w00t!!

Not going to install until weekend though; don't want to rush it with an evening install.
