Haha thanks for the referral Frankie, but I will address the issue of weight here.

I can say that the exhaust is lighter compared to my ikon. I didn't do any official weighing, but when I picked up the Ikon and when I picked up the Perf exhaust, it felt lighter.

Now as to stock, from what I remember that thing was pretty frickin heavy. Maybe I was weak before and had not enough muscles, but the stock I remember was heavier than the Ikon.

Also keep in mind, that the piping that comes with the exhaust removes the resonator, there is definite weight savings there

oh man back from the dead.
thanks for the comment.

u can look at $125-200 at a muffler shop for install - should take
no longer than an hour to do.

ur norcal, try pm'n LongTran or Andy@LTBMW.
see if they can help u out - they're local.
with Tischer doesn't hurt to ask if they can hook it up too.
also in the for sale section I saw a couple.
when u buy the exhaust, it comes with 2 boxes - the muffler and the mid-pipes.

a loca muffler shop will do it for around 80-100. My muffler and pipes came two separate days, which i didn't realize. I got a muffler shop to do install and custom fabricate some pipes to remove the resonator for 120, only to have the pipes arrive later that day It would've been 85 i think without the new pipes. Took it to another muffler shop closer to home to have the pipes replaced which set me back another 60. Totally worth the hassle though, sounds absolutely wonderful

Hey, BMW of Lincoln has an ad in the Nov 2009 edition of Roundel. They'll provide 25% off of the listed price from http://accessories.bmwusa.com/.

Their sales persons are not very knowledgeable but you should be fine as long as you have the part number and the listed price. It's free shipping for anything over $200!

You better hurry if you want to order large or heavy items. I think they're trying to retract their free shipping offer.

I just called out of curiosity and got a quote for a 3 series performance exhaust. The discounted price with 25% off is $1125 without shipping.

Just so you know. I think their retail price may be higher.

The list price from the ad is referring to http://accessories.bmwusa.com/. At least that's what my sales person quoted me from. They have/had a special on free shipping for anything over $200.

I recently ordered a performance rear bumper kit for $720 shipped. That was the best price I found online.

FYI, you have to mention that you saw their ad in the roundel for the discount though.

E90 Performance Exhaust 2006 330i

Hey guys,

I know this is probably and old subject but I saw some posts on the performance exhaust for the E90. I am seriously thinking of getting one for my 06 330i but I need to know is this thing loud? I want something that sounds nice but at the same time will not bother my wife or kids when driving in it. I also do not want cops to be on the look out for me. Can I get your personal opinion on this if you have experience with the exhaust on your E90? I have heard clips and they sound good but at the same time it sounds pretty loud. The internet and in person are two different things. Thanks for your input.

Talk to FrankiE90. He lives in Pasadena. Maybe we can all meet up for an in person sound sample since I also want to hear it in person. Burbank cops are dicks. I got a modified exhaust ticket for my Greddy Evo II on my late Lexus IS300. I'm on the other side of the 10 freeway from you btw. Last week this hot asian chick in a blue 328i tried to flex on Garfield in Monterey Park. I had to show her what's up.
