Space Gray seems like a good color in the photos however I will reserve judgement until I see it in person.

Different gray exterior colors

Is the car to the far left space gray and the one to the right of it sparkling graphite? They look different.

My guess is the one on the far left is arctic and the one next to it is space grey (it is slightly darker than the one on the far left). Sparkling graphite would appear much darker than either arctic or space grey.

At least they put a decent mountain bike on the roof. Looks like a Santa Cruz Nomad...

You guys who keep comparing the new E92 styling cues to past or present Japanese cars, come on !!
You betray your youth. Go back to the 1st generation Accord (1976) and early Toyotas and you'll see the beginning of the Japanese trend to copy elements of BMW design. Look at the previous two generations of Civic coupes (especially the tail end) and you'll see the obvious adoption of BMW influences. Also, look at the tail end of the new 2007 Camry - it's a Toyota version of the 7 series. The day that BMW copies any Japanese design will surely mark the beginning of the end for BMW. In my opinion, it's a highly unlikely development. On the other hand, the Japanese have been splendid mimics - original automotive design is not their forte.

Thank you for saying this. I've wanted to say it, but I just haven't had the will to actually spend my time on it.

For those of you considering SpaceGrey/SaddleBrown, I made these screenshots from the Austrian BMW Configurator:

Thank you for posting these shots. It is odd how space grey ends up looking very bluish in the configurator pics, quite unlike most of the official photos that we have seen. Now just released in Canada, we have the new 3 series Coupe Brochure, but it is of no help when it comes to the space grey colour chip - the printer repeated the arctic chip for space grey !

DerekS,

I think you have to change your aviator because it seems it resembles Titanium Silver. Space Grey is darker and a little bit greenish?

The german new 3 series Coupe Brochure shows the exterior colours also. Arctic is lighter than Space Grey, which is lighter than Sparkling Graphite. I agree, the colours shown by the configurator reflect not the reality. You have to see the colours in real life at the dealer.

I was noticing in some of the lighting in those photos how very similar Space Grey is to Arctic. A tad less blue hue, but very close.

After seeing all of the various photos of Space Grey coupes, I have confirmed my choice of Space Grey with Jade Grey leather & Grey Poplar trim. Even though this combo is not "officially" available in the Canadian ordering guide, it has been accepted. The 335i coupe (Lic. # M -MZ 4370) has this combination, shown in many photos here - only difference from the car that I have ordered is the aluminum trim - I prefer the grey poplar. Many thanks to Jason and to Maximinimaus for their research and photos. Regretably, jade grey is not yet available in the USA. I think it will be a fairly popular choice, much like lemon has been in Europe and Canada. Why wouldn't BMWNA offer this option ?
