That's low mileage Compared to my 335i 2006 done 185,000 miles still going strong on original clutch turbos and fuel pump, very well built cars these!

Nothing wrong with owning a high-mileage BMW if you are not scared to turn wrenches on them. Nice thing nowadays is the internet and Forums like E90 Post where there are DIYs for just about every common repair. And my experience with BMWs (after 25 + years of ownership) is they all have common problems that are well documented for known repairs.
My cars: 1989 E30 265K (retired after 18 years) 1997 Z3 160,000 miles (active 17 years) 2006 E90 N52 207,000 miles (active 7 years in May) Good luck with it. |

im nearing 90k (2010 335 Auto) and only issue so far was two blown hpfp.
ABS/DCS/traction lighting comes on at times (ignored it) adaptive head light comes on (ignored it) changed the oil about 7 times wastegate rattle once about every 50 start ups on the same brake pads with plenty of life left (50%) front n rear. Other that that the car been great to me and loved every mile of it.

I'd say go for it, the price is right IMO. but like others have said, go have it checked out. have them remove the under trays and check for oil leaks, especially where the tranny bolts up to the engine, the turbos etc. check for other leaks such as valve cover, oil filter housing, and water pump (even if it has been replaced).
good luck! |

That has been done and there was a small leak in the oil filter gasket... It needs to be replaced... BMW quoted 900 bucks, but the part is 30 or so and the diy doesn't seem to be that bad... Also, the thermostat was not replaced when the water pump needed to be replaced and that has to be done aswell... A 80 dollar part, and shouldn't be too difficult of a job. Coolant flush would be a good idea too right? Thanks 2 more days |

Buying one with high mileage is not scary like people make them out to be. Most of the problems(If any)have already been ironed out.. That is a great price btw. Good luck.

Keep in mind any car out of warranty may have an unexpected failure, so plan ahead. You gotta roll the dice. I'd personally not by any German car out of warranty, but that's just me. I've seen how fast the stupidest things can cost.
I personally bought a car with 130K+ on it, but it was a Honda, and I know them in and out like the back of my hand. Parts are relatively cheap and they are really bullet proof from top to bottom. High mileage BMW or any car can have little things that go wrong, water pump failure, oil pan gasket leak, oil filter gasket leak, turbo's, just to name a few. The typical injectors or fuel pump issues are inevitable but they appear to have been leveling off the past 3 or so years. |

straight up, just because it looks stock doesn't mean it hasn't been modded before. Everyone on this fourm mods their E9X and when it comes time to sell they put on the stock parts. Next, just because all the maintenance has been done doesn't been it hasn't been beat. My advice, is get one with low miles. 100K any E9X seems a lot IMO. The owner drove the crap out of it. BTW how much is he asking?

Thanks to all of the support and advice by others in this forum, it is proven to show that there are many 100k club e90's out there... Even some 200k ones. That being said, thanks for your opinion, but I cannot afford a lower mileage 335 at this time and enjoy a challenge!

If you have the money to maintain it go for it..or else it'll be the biggest headache while you have it. A lot of my friends who are your age (I assume 17? since your name kind of gives it away and if that's you in the pic) go out and by e46 m3's, 335's, AMG's..but they don't consider the maintenance cost. My friend with the m3 just wants to be fast lol competing with his friends, but he's struggling trying to repair his car every other week. My other friend who wanted a 335...also wanted to just be faster but he too can't afford the maintenance. It's kid stuff really..who can be the fasest lol I'll admit I was looking for a 335 too but I'm happy with my 330 even though it isn't as fast as all these new cars, but its still pretty damn quick, all while it's easy to repair and doesn't have as many issues as the 335. Another one of my friends wants the older e class amg's but they all have to realize that this is the rich man's car for rich man's maintenance. Another thing, I'd turn my head away from cars that have mods on it, it's just obvious the previous owner probably threw it around and drove it hard. If your heart is set on it..I'd make sure ALL the problems are fixed before getting it. Don't be fooled by the exterior, make sure everything else checks out first.

When I go to pick up the car in a couple days, I will address the known issues and try to haggle down a bit more on the price. Thanks for your advice.
