If you are doing a fresh install, it's always recommended to unplug the ground on the battery. But if you are just moving the current ground, unplug the ground side on the amp, hook up other side to bolt, then reconnect amp side ground.

Bit of an update, added a JL Audio grill. Installation was kind of a pita since it was such a tight fit. But once it got in there, its solid. Looks real clean.

So its been a month and some days now, and I have been blastin beats. It sounds like the 12W3V3 has fully broken in now, some deep chest vibrating bass is being produced. All my fellow audiophile friends (and myself of course) can't get enough of it. The beautiful thing is it's not overpowering the logic 7 system. I have had this car for over a year now, and I cannot explain the joy I have when getting into the drivers seat. It drives like a dream, body has beautiful lines, <3 the N54, and sound system was great before.. but now its just perfect. I must sound like a major fanboi, but god damn I love this thing. That is all.

Where didu get the velcro from? And I have base radio on my car, I want to power my 2 tweeters, 2 door speakers and 2 underseats and 1 sub in the back, should I be looking for a 6/1 amp or be looking at getting 2 separate amps? Preferably jl audio.

I also turned the gain down some, and also changed some of the EQ settings on HU that I got from the Logic 7 sticky in this section:

80hz to 0 (was +2)
200hz to +4 (was 0)
Bass to 5 (was 8)

The way it sounds now is perfect, my father asked me "Damn is this how the factory system sounds in these things?" So its not obnoxious enough to make someone say that there is def a trunk sub in there. But at this rate, I will gradually lose my hearing lol.

Also, to add onto this thread, I had to velcro the box to the back seat. I thought it was a snug fit and wouldnt move, but turns out the mighty N54 has enough kick to have it slide out a tad bit.

Bought the velcro at walmart, was about $20. I'd talk to VP Electricity about what the best setup would be for you. I believe you can run all that on a 6/1 amp

Here is a video I made a few months ago and forgot to post it here. I've found some songs that hit the frequencies that vibrate the rear view mirror. Camera didn't pick it up, but the ceiling cover does vibrate quite a bit. Gotta say, BMW did a fantastic job insulating the cabin, no rattles inside. The mic on my iPhone can't pick up all the lows in cabin/trunk. Most of the outside rattles in the vid were from the license plate, gas cap cover, and roof rack. I ended up getting a weathertech plate frame and it eliminated a lot of the rattle from that area.

Do you have to play it that loud to hear the bass in the cabin? At what % do you think the video is at, to get all that vibration? I want to do the same thing but not at the point of making everything rattle just to hear the bass.
