My experience with the numbers from those plug and play boxes is that they often are a bit optimistic. If they can produce a dyno graf from an independant shop then ok. But their own numbers, i wouldn't trust a bit. And yes, DPF delete adds 25-30hp, I agree on that. I didn't expect that much, but I got that kinda improvement myself. And Bluefin actually states 280hp ;-) I just checked their website. @Dan That's what matters. If you are satisfied, then it is as it should be. But trust me....more want's more.... ;-)

[QUOTE=Dan-danGT;14337039 will get a Wagner intercooler and maybe better suspension/ brakes[/QUOTE]
Do your homework first, buy a cheap BT. Elm327 dongle and check your inlet temps. I'm very surprised to see that mine are 3c more than ambient when cruising, push the car a bit and it rises to max 8c above ambient and I'm running stock ic & 100bhp over std. IMHO my stock ic is doing just fine. I thought about an updated ic but the figures I'm seeing makes me think that buying one will be a white elephant. Spend the money on another roller session and maybe get your map tweaked. |

What app are you using with the Elm327?

'At wheel readings' for torque should be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are misleading as they still give a pre-gearbox flywheel figure, its nonsensical. Torque is multiplied by the gears & diff, so torque at the flywheel of say 400lbft would be more like 2000lbft at the wheels.in 3rd gear. Basic physics. For a dyno operator to take a % off the flywheel torque as you do for power is wrong and just makes meaningless 'pub figures' Power figures are totally different however as they are a function of revs & torque and therefore unaffected by gear ratios. Power in - losses = Power out So 400bhp flywheel - 15% losses = 340bhp wheels Standard drivetrain losses for a standard RWD are 15-17% But you can't apply this to torque. Well I have some results, I ran the ring this week just gone. Used my snap on machine and found some interesting results.
With an ambient 24c I had the charge air temp reaching 102c which to me is really high. So I think an intercooler is on the cards as I do want to do more track days! I did 4 runs all with the same results 100c charge air temps. And that was within the first mile on the track, obviously the car was up to temp before going out. I thought about meth but I'm not going to do that, as it is easy to catch fire. |

So nobody has an idea on my results?
Them bluefins and superchips things I'm sure most Dyno operates say they run really rich. Who knows not so easy to tell with a diesel as they don't use AFR |

Hmmm I just bought an OBDII dongle, and have been playing with it. Going to my work running down the highway at 130-200km/h in 24-27 deg C ambient, I had an inlet temp of 30-35 deg C. I tink it topped at aprox 40 deg C according to torgue app on my smartphone. I have an uprated FMIC mounted. That might be the difference? I will have another go tomorrow at the highway in the morning going to Copenhagen. I will do some testing there again.

Hi, yes that would be good. I ran the nurburgring and within a mile maybe 2 I was getting 100c boost temp. I'm sure it's way to high 50-60c maybe but not that much!
What intercooler are you using? I need some advise on what to buy I like The look of the Wagner as its bolt off bolt on. Just don't like the price. Thanks for your help |

Hmmm I could not get the boost temp in torque, only inlet temp which was 4-10 degrees above ambient temp. Where did you read the boost temp? I have a bigger FMIC from Promotec in South Africa. At the tmime I wanted the upgrade, Wagner was not available, but searching the net, I found Promotec and got one from them for aprox £400 incl. postage.

Not sure i don't use a wireless dongle, I found it on my snap on solus pro.
I have only ever seen the Wagner and other none popular intercoolers. It was something I was considering when I had my old golf tdi. |
