Wow never knew they were that good, always got the impression they were on the budget end and dont compare to the likes of KW, Sachs etc. Will def look at some for my car, and a few friends who are wanting coilovers.

I assume you're using the ones with external reservoirs?

that is correct.

I have the "BR Type RA Series" in my 1'er and I couldn't be happier.

However if the new "ER Type" that features separate compression and rebound adjustment had of been available for my car back then, I would have gone with those.

Some of you guys may recall that I originally had KW V2's in my car, after less than a week they were subsequently removed to make way for the Taiwan Bor-Chuann coil-overs, aka BC-racing or simply BC coil-overs.

FYI,

Truth be told, I was more than a little sceptical when Pete suggested we go with a Taiwanese made product, to overcome the issues we were having with the German made KW's.

But I kid you not after holding both a BC and KW front assembly in my hand, you would swear that the BC's were made in Deutschland too.

The build quality of the BC coil-over really is that good and on the road, the level of dampening adjustment far outweighs what the KW's are capable of.

Over the years i have replaced many different types of wheel bearing setups but this M3 set up is a real pain in the ass to disassemble, Took me around 2.5 hours just to strip as everything is soooo tight, it is just so lucky we have a very good hydraulic puller set this did the job just fine and nothing broken, made up a few new service tools to help with the next one through the door. As it turned out the bearings are shot unfortunately Mr BMW does not use a twin oil seal system like most of the Jap cars so unfortunately water can get into the bearing, there is just the seal on the bearing itself the other issue is that the ABS ring is part of the inner seal on the bearing this inner seal is magnetic so will attract any metallic particles all in all not a very good set up. A real shame but on the up side every item is built super strong, i guess just don't drive your car in the rain
The new bearings are on there way from the UK cost was $78.00 each + shipping. BMW wanted $320.00 for one kit, gee they know how to rip a hole in your pocket

Job well done if you want an even more planted rear you should try installing solid(delrin) subframe and differential bushings

Hi there
Yes we will do a race system that will have two oil coolers, the E92 front bar has those spot lights fitted so the oil cooler space is less than the E82. I want to keep the look of my car sort of stock so the lights must stay.

You are correct, we have been doing this on all of our GTR race cars for many years, But i feel that most BMW owners are not ready for the extreme mods as yet.
My car will be a road car / track day car so there will be some compromise along the way until i bend it then who knows. As i use the complete M3 rear end it does have a good bush system as stock and will be OK for a semi slick,
Full slick is a complety differant story we would then use a alloy solid bush set up

NO the advan oil cooler kits are for the 1 series 135 only, the E90/92/93 will be complete soon, stage 1 will have one cooler stage 2 will have two coolers

It was like that when i purchased the car, the old lady has scraped 3 out of the 4 but i like these rims so i will have them repaired and painted Gunmetal

Sorry we will not do a twin system for the 1 series there is no need as 135 has mutch better air flow through the front bar than the E90 etc
