I've had mine go up towards 245-250kmh then I believe the limiter was activated as the car would not put power down and started to sputter. Note: don't try this at home boys and girls. It was a knuckle-head spur of the moment thing. Lots of wind noise and revs were maxed out in 6th. Even if the limiter was removed, gearing would not alone it to go that much faster.

QUOTE=bren335i;6236982]Simple, doesn't matter what engine because its not tuning anything.
It biases a fuel signal and leans the fuel out a bit on the stock map, no timing control, no ecu control. And then amplifies/multiplies the stock drive by wire signal as much as possible to make you think you are going fast. Which is the incorrect way of doing it, as all the torque targets and DBW factory mapping is less then desirable to start with. However, it's simple and effective to your market - hence why it works. a sprint booster and an ebay resistor .99 mod. [/QUOTE] Actually, a sprintbooster and the BMS powerbox are two different things. A srpintbooster simply enhances your throttle response, you get no hp nor torque gains whatsoever (its also on their website). In the other hand the BMS not only does it enhance the throttle response, but it also gives some extra hp and torque gains, its also installed on the ECU. The sprintbooster is a simple PnP cables that goes on your pedal. Hope this helps. Sprintbooster pricing nowadays are close to the $175-$200 range (used on forums) BMS PBox are close to $200+. **Based from what I've seen.

Hey Mike,
Just want to touch base...I'm loving my PBX. Just kicking myself for not getting it earlier. Oh well, plenty of time to enjoy now :-)

Another Satisfied Customer- I did the install took about a hour and 30 like they said..... Man were the ecu cover release hard to get to !
that ate up all my time. I did the install waited about another half hour , crossed my fingers and the engine started what a relief !! warmed the car took it for a drive and it is the shit !!!!! saw the gas gauge go down faster but damn is it powerful now... now I could slide the rear out hell of a lot easier. Thanks BMS and Mike ! -- now just gotta hit up e-town course -- |

First post on this thread in seven years... Crazy. I'm about to purchase my PBX from Burger, have there been any enhancements to it in these last seven years?

heh I still lurk here daily but there's just not a lot to say at the moment.
I mean, geeze, for the cost of the powerbox you could buy a $45 bimmergeeks cable and still have some money to get an actual tune at some point.. |
